Rajput has to go! That appears to be the main issue here and it wouldn't be a difficult decision for ZC imo.

ZC needs Williams.
Not to mention that Rajput has offered nothing to Zim cricket. We have not progressed one iota since he came him. Those young players were going to break through regardless of who was in charge.

Rajput is a mediocre coach. What's his record with ZIM?

Williams seems like a guy who makes rash decisions so there is still a smidgen of hope. But at 35, if any of the Big 4 quit, it's likely permanent.

Williams was really at the top of his game unlike Taylor who seems to have declined.

How long was Rajput extended?
It could just be a corona thing.

His original contract was three-years, until August 2021. Obviously would stay in charge for the Ireland/Scotland tours. But considering this Williams mess and fallout, it seems that Rajput must have got a new long-term contract? I'll try to ask around and see if anyone has heard anything.

He's awful.

The timing of his walk-away from Zimbabwe cricket is very bad, with his age being 34, time clearly is not on his side, and he is in the form of his life right now and he could have carried on that form into 2023 World Cup qualifiers. If he really wants to go then he should go for good coz it will not be easy to make a comeback to play at the highest level after long break or sabbatical.

Sean Williams: An Appreciation Of A True-Blue Zimbabwean Hero!
On two occasions in 2006 and 2008, Sean Williams declined to sign a contract with the board as the situation in the country continued to decline. The travails of a Zimbabwean cricketer you see.

However, on both the occasions he returned to resume his cricket career. For Williams it was not about the lack of talent for he showed it on numerous occasions. His seventy one against Pakistan at Multan in 2008 or his fifty nine against Bangladesh at Dhaka in 2009 were scored in tough conditions. In both knocks, he charted himself akin to a foot soldier wary of the opponents and what the situation demanded

My biggest fear is that they might demolish Ireland and that will convince ZC to keep the coaching staff. I really don't know how to feel. It's a tricky situation. I don't think we will qualify directly anyway so losing to Ireland might be better for our long term future if Williams stays. He is by far our best player right now
