At the end of the day, Grant probably wants the job and is probably the best realistic candidate around. It can happen.

But do ZC want that? An outspoken white Zimbo in charge?

Much easier ride for Hammy and the board if they just appoint another yes-man from the subcontinent or something.

Let’s not forget that they did give Streak and Waller the job. I also don’t consider Grant outspoken? Off the top of my head at least I can’t recall anything like that. I’ve heard that he is extremely quiet. This wasn’t said to me in any critical way.

I do wonder though if Grant is as good as we assume he is as a coach.

I reckon we go all out ambitious.
Let’s offer it to Andy whilst making moves to welcome him back to the country after a 20 year exile. This involves politics and complete forgiveness and even an apology to him and Henry.
Let’s then have Grant as batting coach and whoever Andy chooses as a bowling coach. This is 100% optimum choice in terms of performance.
It’ll be the feel good story of the year but it’s ambitious.

I have only ever heard feedback on him in regards to the China man bowler, but the feedback was he overworks him and is N injury waiting to happen as he is expected to bowl 600 balls a day in practice.
This was just the opinion of the person who was witnessing.
That's not good. That does not sound like a good coach. Coaching is not about working players into the ground. That is not how you develop them.
The person who told me this (I have a few sources on the ground) said exactly the same thing.
It was a similar criticism aimed at Mangongo. A lot of the black coaches seem to shout the black kids into the ground at training like an army camp. Very authoritarian.

Oh for sure, Grant was always pretty shy and quiet. But I mean he’s not likely to put up with any shit or chaos like Rajput has at various times and like any other random Indian probably would.

As for your ambitions idea! Haha, when pigs fly mate. Andy isn’t ever coming back, sadly. It’s bigger than cricket :(

Melhuli's latest tweet seem to suggest that the whole coaching staff is in trouble.

I always err on the edge of caution with ZC and am not taking it at full face value. It might just be a screen to present that they are serious, but they still survive.

if grant takes the job, I think Mickey Arthur would come over too. They work together. I reemember when Sri Lanka got Mickey, they were forced to take Grant too

Err well it’s safer than 20 years ago (regardless of Mugabe) but yeah it’s hardly been a revolution. If anything Zim is arguably even more of a mess now, albeit with slightly calmer race relations. Andy moving back to Zim and getting a job here? Cant see it anytime soon.

Bring Grant Flower who has credentials and credibility with his resume...Most players who watched him play would look up to him and take his criticism or advice at heart knowing he has played at the same level too.Grant can reach out to Andy Flower for help in special occasions whether it's advice or techniques improvements on some players..Hey Blessing went to Andy Flower's team not long ago and won some tournament...We can't say Andy does want Zimbabwe cricket to succeed...
It's in ZC best interest to hire Grant Flower maybe also some foreign Zimbabwe players can return due to loyalty to Grant or even his Dad Bill Flower who has a academy which helped some of them..

Andy is a dream. We probably can't afford him.

Grant makes sense to me because I genuinely believe he is the right guy to take the kids to a higher level with the bat. Secondly he knows the system and was part of it, the senior players will respect him. Finally I don't think he will be too expensive. It would be the perfect opportunity for him to make the step up.

Hondo and Stuey are part of the system but I think even the system has picked up we need a change now. The best we can hope for is that they get reassigned to coach some of the domestic teams.

I also feel like we need 2 bowling coaches. This is our biggest weakness right now.
