Frost signed up with the Rocks last season but I think he didn't travel in the end, possibly due to Covid travel reasons.BostonZimbo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 4:17 pmWhat about some of the other foreigners from last year. I know Welch is injured but I'd hope he'd play if not. I saw Evans is already back in Zim, what about Frost? Saw he'd popped up in Irelandsecretzimbo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 3:41 pmSeems to have been some recent doubt about whether Rocks would continue this year but now appears to be confirmed that they will.
Ben Curran confirmed to be returning there. Shane Snater as well but only available after Christmas
Presumably Leicester will be keen for Welch to get more match experience over their winter after being injured so hopefully we'll see him again.
Rhinos are in particular need to do quite a lot of recruiting if they want to be anywhere near competitive this season I reckon.

Ben Compton is an interesting one. 27 and hasn't made a consistent breakthrough to first XI county cricket, and is not Zim eligible. Bit of a strange signing really. Not particularly exciting.

I really hope the season isn't confined to Harare again. It's been far too long without cricket in the regions now. I know it's very expensive to do, even more so with Covid protocols. But I think it's very important. Kwekwe pitch looked good last month when I was there but I dread to think what state Masvingo's ground is in after so many years without proper cricket. Mutare and Queen's are probably not much better.

Looks like we're gonna see a decent amount of foreign based zimbos this year interesting to see. Heard some talk about the older Schadendorf as wellsecretzimbo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 4:53 pmBen Compton is an interesting one. 27 and hasn't made a consistent breakthrough to first XI county cricket, and is not Zim eligible. Well you heard from rhe horse's mouth. If you don't use facilities too often there's no point in maintaining them.
I've always wondered about that.

He's a good player. You'd think with his family name someone would have cut him a few more breaks. Doesn't pay to have footballing heritage unless you're from Scunthorpe.

If Houghton goes to Tuskers it's going to be like oil and water with their manager

I think Compton's mother was born in Zimbabwe?secretzimbo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 4:53 pmBen Compton is an interesting one. 27 and hasn't made a consistent breakthrough to first XI county cricket, and is not Zim eligible. Bit of a strange signing really. Not particularly exciting.
