Unless i've completely missed it but its a shame that ZC hasn't been able to try get a few of the overseas zimbos like last year again such as Snater, Muyeye or even Schadendorf, who got a single first class game last UK season. Snater showed what a gulf in class it was between the Logan Cup and the County Championship last year and thought that if ZC could get regular attendance from these guys who have experienced the County lifestyle it would really help with improvements on the level of competition in general. I don't think its any coincidence that with the return of Blessing Muzarabani we've seen Richard Ngarava improve both in his pace but also his general consistency.
We will see a few overseas later in the season I'm sure. I know for a fact that a handful have been approached and offered. The Logan season ended up starting a month earlier than initially planned, and with that short notice obviously none of them have made it over here yet. But I'm sure we will see a few as the season progresses.

You'll never see Muyeye step foot in the country again though. He's in England officially as an asylum seeker lol. Literally on a refugee visa!

Are we getting the same overseas players as last year such as Curran and Snater? Or are we also going to get some different ones from last year?

What will the Northerns versus Southerns games be about? Got a feeling we will see quite a few international players or even a County team in that slot.

If it started a month early then we will probably see overseas players in Febryary when the second half starts. This is actually going to be a long domestic season, especially if there will be a NPL as well. Something tells me the NPL might be a T20 tournament this time. It would make more sense actually. They could finish it in 10 days

As for Snater, he is a T20 reserve. The Netherlands don't seem to pick him that often. I think Essex hold the key for his future, he only signed a 1 year deal last year but he put in some good performances this season.

Something tells me he could be tempted one day, especially if Essex don't give him a new deal. I doubt the Netherlands can afford him.

That's good to hear that some overseas guys will be coming over!

I'm not sure about Snater, while I do hope that he may be tempted to return I'm certain that if Essex release him other counties will certainly be offering him, Sussex would absolutely kill for someone like Snater for next season tbh.

I don't see as many new players as promised before the season.

Also any update on Dion Myers. I fear he has gone to study.

I said before- if you start with 3 days' notice ain't nobody going to arrive. Its bizarre that they can't announce the beginning of the season and stick to it year in and year out, what's difficult about that?
I don't know of anybody who's playing, maybe we will see one or two but I have my doubts.
Myers is at uni in UK. Unless there's some winter tours that he gets picked for we won't be seeing him for a long time.
I don't think you can come back from a 3 year hiatus. I don't see him being able to play a decent enough level of cricket over there, not with their new regulations.
I stand by my opinion that he was the best batsman amongst the current 4 that have had exposure, what a waste of time and money. He's been in the system for years and they've just let him walk out the door. We've waited years for a high quality young black batsman.
How's those little 3x3 white picket fences at the WC

That's a real shame. Bags of talent. Will probably have another Murray situation. It takes more than talent. By the time he is done Shumba and Wes will be way ahead.

I reckon they are both currently ahead if him. Shumba is the cleanest hitter we've had since PJ Moor. Madhevere is the future if zimcricket. Myers reputation has exceeded his performances thus far, he is rather in danger of Marumani surpassing him

Given that most universities have restructured since covid, I fail to see the motivation of these guys quitting a potentially lucrative international cricket career with global T20nprospects to go and hunker down on dome university campus for 3-4 years. They could easily enrol for distance education whilst earning good money playing club/international cricket, one shouldn't ne cr sssarily negate the other.
