The fact that they are 2 weeks from arriving in the caribbean and still haven't decided who the keeper is going to be - out of three candidates - is worrying me.

At least they won today.

How strange is that Select XI batting card. 174, of which Marumani scores a hundred and the alarming thing is there were 19 extras, basically the next highest scorer.

With covid lingering around, won't it be advantageous to have a couple of players who are capable of wicketkeeping? Unless we have seam bowlers capable of bowling at express pace or swing, an average wicketkeeper should suffice

This new variant is rife. There will be some luck involved if this tournament has no hiccups.
If one player from any team tests positive at any stage, surely that's the end for that team? They'd have a hard time convincing anyone that that player had somehow not had contact with other team mates. That's a bullshit way to end your junior career.
The Cummins case showed that there's some fatigue for this charade, there's hope. I don't recall who, but one player tested negative but had to do a precautionary isolation because he'd been near someone with covid.

Yeah, I'll be very surprised if this tournament goes through till the end.
