So it seems wohulter and makoni are left handers. Glad we have a couple in squad. Might be invaluable on spin heavy tracks rotating the strike

Everybody getting a start but not going big, as usual. Very Zimbabwean. Similar to all the games they've been playing with the Select XI in Harare too.
Having said that this is probably a decent-ish score and hopefully the bowlers can do the business.

I think Bawa is probably down on form and confidence and probably trying to occupy the crease, which is what the match situation demanded anyway.
If Welch could figure out how to get past 30 he'd be excellent. He goes at a run a ball effortlessly quite often, then feels he needs to change gear when he's already going quick enough, has all the shots and then invents a new way to get caught. Also struggles to rotate strike, and if he gets bogged down he thinks he can hit his way out of trouble, a slow learning curve regarding how to construct an innings and the ebb and flow of the game, but the talent is there. He's the type of guy that needs to bat with a seasoned pro and see how it's done.
These Irish don't look too sharp. We need to be posting 300 again them, boundaries look small.

I don't like Bawa's set up. His blade is cocked right up and way open and his hands are tight up against him. There's a lot of stuff that has to happen before he gets into good positions and hard to find rhythm like that. I don't remember him batting like that, looks complicated and contrived. I cant find footage of him against a seamer, but if his trigger is the same as that press against the spin he'd be closing himself off a bit. I like a press against spin though, it works.

How long is this break for? Annoying.
Humpfreys looks like the only real threat. A fifer.
Lads need to play him straight and stop trying to work him too square and give him a bit of respect, see him off and take their runs from the other side.

This livenvplay is good. U can get a password that enables you to watch whatever u want- ea six, ea wicket, ea single, ea bowler, batsman or ea ball.
I hope our coaches do some proper diligent stuff on the opposition so we know what to expect. A proper statistician would have been a useful addition. I'm assuming our entire Board will be making an appearance at some point to do some shopping and whoring, proper place to holiday. Go for it gents.

There is an 'analyst' on tour but I've no idea his qualifications.
This Mataranyika lad is built like a brick shithouse. If he ever learns how to hold a bat he'd be fun down the order.

He's overweight. The last squad were super fit like racing snakes.
Spin from both ends. Only a good move if its really turning, surely see if a seamer can get anything out of the nut at one end?

I like the fact that Bennet is bowling a bit slower and giving it a bit of flight. The few times I've seen him he darts it in. It contains but doesn't take wickets. Clearly its a turner, but I still would have had a seamer at the other end, waste of a new ball.
