I think it's all a bit tragic
Fair play to him for still rocking up after all these years and trying. It would have been easier to retire.
Probably not actually. And that's the problem.

Truth is it's probably between Maruma and Kasuza for the last batting spot on tour. Except we don't need another number 5, we have loads.

Dont let anyone ever tell you that domestic/franchise cricket is in any way, form or shape comparable to international cricket. Heres Maruma on his way to a 50 hence landing a seat on the plane to Sri Lanka. maruma has over a decade of test and ODI experience, averaging 9 and 11 in the formats, with No score over 0. yet he enjoys a domestic average over 30 with 8 centuries and 28 half-centuries. Having played domestically since the George Bush era means that youve played with the same guys 100s of time and are comfortable facing them. When he came across international teams, mostly associates nations, Singapore, UAE etc, he rarely gets double digits with the bat

It would be interesting to see what number he batted and the number of overs gone when he came to the wicket in his international matches.

I think Chivanga will get the reserve pacer slot.

I'm surprised we haven't seen Mumba. Thought he might have moved above Chivanga in the pecking order recently. Chivanga needs a chance though - it's now or never for him.

Do you think they will drop Chatara, he is one of the boys, guys who played with Masakadza are more or less guaranteed a spot unless they are utter rubbish

Mumba in unselectable from what I have seen from him this season. Chivanga needs to get a look in but we can't play 3 number 11s. This is where Evans may get a shot in the long term.

7) burl
8) tiripano
9) Wellington
10) blessing
11) ngarava

If they are worried about a long tail and also having enough bowling options I would suggest this side for Sri Lanka
