All in all apart from Chatara I'm happy with that squad. It seems a meritocracy. I don't think mutombodzi is a bad pick at all. Has played well in one dayers and 4 dayers and I wouldn't put him in same bracket as say Maruma.

I'm excited for kaitano as he 110% deserves to be there and has worked at his game you can see that.
Glad Williams is there and hasn't retired.

For all rajputs bluster about going with youth he didn't pick marumani. I think maybe shumba is lucky to be there as part of 14 but boy does he have potential.

Yea I guess I'm happy with the squad... Madande is a nod to the future also and will help him to be around the squad no doubt

I wonder if the rumours that Campbell and Masuku had Covid are true?

Campbell is surely a better potential than Mutombodzi, so its a shame he didn't have an opportunity to show it this week. I see Campbell and Evans have both secured UK clubs again. Sigh. We have several tours upcoming in the Zim winter/UK summer again this year.

Zimbabwe honestly have pretty good selectors I reckon. Not that its hard to pick most of those players since theres barely any outside competition. Good solid squad though. Wouldve liked to see Marumani in the squad though but fair enough

Does Mutombodzi still bowl or only plays as a batter now?

Pretty good squad. Good that they're not even taking another chance with Maruma who is just another Waller in the making. Maybe the selectors were considering him for the T20Is before they were cancelled.

Only Williams, Ervine, Raza and Madhevere has the ability to handle spin in the likes of Hasaranga or Maheesh Theekshana

T Marumani deserved another chance as he is the only one in present Zim team who plays shorter format with modern approach like top teams

Sri Lanka just lifted their bans on Gunathilaka, Mendis and Dickwella just in time for the series

Hasaranga is out of the series I guess.

In any case it'll be a tough series for Zimbabwe, I was mighty impressed with Asalanka and Nissanka in the T20 WC. SRL will do well in future.

Do not put Waller in the same bracket with Maruma. Waller, tbh, played few matching winning knocks for Zimbabwe, specially the one against New Zealand where they chased a record 300 plus target whereas Maruma absolutely did nothing worth noting.
