U19CWC: Zimbabwe U19s Vs Pakistan | 17th Jan 2022
Re: U19CWC: Zimbabwe U19s Vs Pakistan | 17th Jan 2022
Nepal? With the USA getting involved these days, do that to 1 of their kids and you are done. They cleaned up FIFA using the FBI to arrest the top brass after Qatar bribed their way to hosting a world cup

Id say its only a matter of time as well.Googly wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 8:50 amYeah that would be a game changer if someone got badly hurt or worse. It can happen as well. You've got guys bowling as fast as anyone in world cricket up against batsmen that are sometimes only 15 years old.ZIMDOGGY wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 8:36 amIf one of these 25 year old 140 pacers hurt or even phil Hughes a poor 17 yr old kid from Nepal or somewhere, this is going to be one hell of a legal controversy.
The problem is now that it is rife, so actual 19 yr olds feel pressure to cheat.
Imagine being the only female 100m swimmer when the other 7 have 6 packs, a beard, are 6 ft tall and have blonde wigs.
Or imagine being the only actual 19 year old trying to fight against 25 yr olds for a 19 spot and 20 yr olds for a 17s spot. Youd feel you have to do. it too just to get a chance.
ICC needs to step in but whos pressuring them to do so.
Especially against teams like PNG that only probably have 40 kids playing for fun in the team.
Recipe for disaster.

Oooft, that's a good point. Maybe they were having an off day but the PNG performance against us was just about the worst I've ever seen at U19 level. That Pakistani pace attack up against them in a few days is going to be dangerous. Maybe they'll rest the two super quicks though.

As quick as those guys were the 6ft 8 155kph guy hasn't played yet, I think he has a hand injury. If they unleash that guy on PNG it will not end well.

That's another thing. How is it physically possible to bowl that fast at 18, when the muscles are still in development? I coach under 15's at my local club and they're good, don't get me wrong, but medium pace at best. It shows there's something amis with the ages. Their keeper is categorically above the age of 19

There's a WhatsApp message making the rounds of a 15 year old 6ft 8 something South African that's touching 150.

But I'm sure it's nonsense, been searching the Internet and can't find anything

Cricinfo just published an article on age cheating in Pakistan so its morphed from a moot complaint to something more credible.
