Already there will be plans afoot to cancel that 2023 series, that's way too soon.
The only games we genuinely have to play are the 2027 WC games. Now they have to figure out how to host, get the money, and not have to play.
We're so jigged.

8 years? I can predict it now;Kriterion_BD wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 5:55 pmThe new FTP will be released in June July this year. Fixtures for the next 8 years, but detailed fixtures for 4 years up to 2026-27.sam_ahm wrote: ↑Tue Mar 01, 2022 2:55 pmYes, Ireland series moved to early 2023 and Ireland have announced a very good home series schedule.
Sadly Zimbabwe cricket still has no official announcement of when Zimbabwe get to play next, what is their FTP, home series, away series, nothing. This is worse than associate level stuff.
3 series with Bangladesh
3 series with Ireland
Maybe 1 with Afghanistan
Not much else
How exciting! And half of those series will probably get cancelled for one reason or another

Re: Future tour rumours
They will eventually get some games against India and Aus in Aug-Sep thanks to the WSL and ZC will probably schedule some games against Netherlands as warmup before Global Qualifier, just to show they are doing 'something'
Afghans will tour in Nov because they will be eyeing those WSL points. That is just about it I'd say.

Re: Future tour rumours
Seeing this FTP fiasco and the sudden interest in the "club season" it's not hard to join the dots. No international cricket, but hey some shambolic club cricket to appease the players. 19 clubs, maybe 10 NPL sides- thats 58 new white balls, plus umpires, their fees, scorer fees, transport and lunches, plus ground prep. Thats probably only about 10-15k, which is not a lot of money in the grand scheme of things, but its the organization of it all.
Re: Future tour rumours
Ireland also do not have anything lined up until late June. It makes no sense for them to postpone April series.
And now I'm thinking what do they have as a 'home season'? A dozen T20s. They get 3 ODIs against NZL due to WSL but otherwise its just T20 stuff.
Honestly ZC may end up getting a slightly better fixture list during the same period.
Makes absolutely no sense for Ireland to postpone a full fledged series when they had nothing else on plate. Strange.

Re: Future tour rumours
Who was supposed to be hosting it? Whoever hosts clearly loses money at this level. They should split the costs just so that there's cricket being played.
This would be a really good opportunity to send an A side

With the Test Championship would it not be worthwhile for Sri Lanka or West Indies to organise a few game to get some easy points off us?
