Sending 37 year old, semi-retired, Cephas on an A tour is genuinely hilarious. I laughed very hard upon reading this
Ya I don't see the value in this. Firstly the forecast says rain and more rain so that's a long way to go not to play.
Secondly A sides are to take a look at players that may one day make the step up. There are a couple of prospects that have been overlooked

This is why I'm against playing guys who can't clear the ropes in T20s, no matter who they are. Roy Kaia is a perfect example of that. Nudging... overthinking... the innings was built around him and that's the result. I feel the same about Ervine and Williams too. Against quality bowling they will struggle in T20s 6 times out of 10. Kaia isn't as good so he will struggle 8 times out of 10
Well Ervine should open in T20’s, absolutely. He needs time to settle. Ideally alongside someone explosive like Marumani.

Kaia shouldn’t be anywhere near a national team obviously

In terms of T20 openers are there any others even available though? Maybe Bright Phiri? Scraping the barrel really

From what I saw the other day, young Tony Munyonga looks like a decent option up top. I've said for nearly two years now that he's a serious talent.

Cephas Zhuwao getting picked in Playing XI for 1st Odi. Not a surprise, in every A series Zim selector do this type of selections  Seems they done with Chibhabha, Maruma, Mpofu and now its time for Zhuwao

Great to see Nyauchi & Evans getting some swing exposing moisture in the track

Zimbabwe doing well and Nepal getting brutally exposed in the longer formats, very much on expected lines.

Zimbabwe are a much better team in the longer formats as they focus more on List A and FC cricket in their domestics. Evans and Nyauchi doing well as expected and showing their worth.

I hope Evans gets selected for Afghanistan ODIs, even if it means replacing Jongwe.

Yes Evans looks like a far better bowler than Jongwe. It's a tough one. We have maybe 6 or 7 bowling options (Blessing, Ngarava, Chivanga, Evans, Chatara, Wellington, Jongwe). We provably only have space for 5.
