Evans strikes...
It is a good start otherwise
Re: Zimbabwe Vs Namibia | 5th T20I | 24th May 2022
Evans took some tap then but a happy end to over as he claims his first ever international wicket

It is a valid excuse to an extent because yes, those 8 players make us quite a lot better and we'd probably be a lot more competitive if they were all playing.TapsC2 wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 11:12 amMight be because this is basically Zim A nowsecretzimbo wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 11:07 amIt's a convenient plan. When we lose they can use that as an excuse and everybody in the setup can keep their jobs and avoid criticism or accountability again![]()
But it's unacceptable that we have literally only about 12 or so decent cricketers in the entire country. That's unacceptable, not good enough. There's no easy quick fix to that but heads should roll regardless.

$12 million dollars a year and they can't even work out how to glue a Go Pro to the top of the side screen.

Jongwe strikes
I think most players will be back for Afghanistan series guys. We might miss 1-2 of them though.

Mavuta is such a club cricketer
How he has n international career I will never know
Just personifies my earlier point that yes, if we had no injuries and for example Wellington was playing, we'd be doing better.
BUT how is it that there is only 1 decent spinner in the entire country
Unacceptable!

I was about to ask that, is Mavuta the 2nd best spinner in the country? Surely can't be... Try out anyone else.secretzimbo wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 11:34 amMavuta is such a club cricketerHow he has n international career I will never know

Theres a few others they could try, but probably a similar level tbh. Maybe Ainsley Ndlovu - but he's in England playing club. Masara didn't do well in Nepal. Honestly John Nyumbu is still very handy but he's about 80 years old and probably will be bowling from a wheelchair quite soon.sam_ahm wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 11:36 amI was about to ask that, is Mavuta the 2nd best spinner in the country? Theres some youngsters like Chesa and co who might be okay one day but still way more work to do. Wellington is miles better and more reliable than basically anyone else.
Our all rounders like Wes, Raza and Williams are honestly better bowlers than most of the genuine specialist spinners in the country
