I think it's a critical series. It's a real gauge of where we're at and a great preparation for India and Australia. A good result would really bouy everyone's confidence, obviously the opposite is equally true.

We like to regard ourselves as being very competitive against Bangladesh, not that I think we are of late, but it would be bloody awesome to hand them a defeat. We desperately need someone over and above Williams, Ervine and Raza to stamp their authority with the bat.
Yes, that's very true, imagine if Zimbabwe pull off a series win against Bangladesh in either of the formats, I think that gives them tremendous confidence going into the high profile series against AUS ans IND.

I also agree that this is the first big test for Dave, although having seen Zim against Nepal and Namibia over the last few months, even if it was not a full strength side, we all had our apprehensions against USA and NET. Those wins against USA and NET may not have come under Rajput, because the team simply lacked confidence and the body language was very poor. In the qualifiers though we saw a different energy altogether.

I've heard he's coming over to play for a franchise next season for sure..... and I believe domestic T20 is due to start in September (in preparation for world cup).

Some rumours about other people from the diaspora as well - I'm not sure what to believe though. It sounds like there's definitely some effort going into this in the background though.

Big few weeks coming up with Ben Curran and Nick Welch finding out if they will be offered new county contracts.

One of these is quite heavily rumoured to have been already offered something by ZC.

We'll see.

Nick welch would be great for the 20 20 matches. Him and Regis giving us flying starts.
Not sold on Ervine at all as a 20 20 player.
Now one day matches and test he is fine however.

Yeah he's good for sure, probably quicker than anyone else we have. But seems to be permanently injured and he has other issues too.

Curran is always going to be more difficult to attract for passport reasons sadly.

Welch and cartwright would do nicely. Give the batting some depth.

Would you rather have Ervine or Shumba
