Haha I don't hate him as such  Just think his selection is the weirdest we've had in ages. Surpasses the randomness of Masara turning up the other day. Masara doesn't have any record to go on..... Musakanda is worse as he has a terrible record to go on  Hopefully he goes well, and I'll be happy fi he does. He was a gun youngster.

Williams may have partied just a little too hard after the T20 series win….

Hopefully Williams and Ervine are just out for a match. But without those two and Blessing, this is practicallly a ZIM A squad.

The BCB has almost a full strength squad here, so the lineup I'd like to see would be:

1) Liton
2) Tamim
3) Shanto
4) Anamul (+)
5) Mosaddek
6) Afif
7) Mushfiq
8) Miraz
9) Taskin
10) Shoriful
11) Mustafiz

Main thing is I would like to see Mosaddek get a chance up the order, especially if we're chasing, since I doubt we'll be chasing very big totals. Shanto most likely will be at 3, and this is the best time to get some confidence boosting runs.

Nothing on the line really and lots of cricket coming up so I guess we can try out a few guys. I actually think Tari will play. Innocent too. It's an opportunity to put your hand up and DH has said he wants a squad. Could also justify "importing" 2 batsmen instead of 1 if they fail. They will most probably fail because I have a feeling Bangladesh want to make a statement. They are also a quality ODI side. Let's not forget that.

For me:

Innocent
Regis
Tari
Raza
Wes
Shumba
Burl
Jongwe
Evans
Wellington/Nyauchi
Ngarava

The only chance we have is if we bat second and somehow Nyauchi and co have a miracle first hour. Tamim seems to have a personal score to settle against Zim ever since those Brian Vitori comments 10 years ago  we need him out early.

Ah! Williams missing out is a disaster! What's wrong with him?

Ever since he called Jarvis and Vitori "ordinary", Tamim has underperformed vs Zimbabwe. His stats vs Zimbabwe are probably actually worse than against England or Australia.

I'd open with Kaia and Kaitano.
Regis at three
Wes
Raza
Burl
Shumba ???
Jongwe
Evans
Masakadza
Ngarava

Nyauchi should be in there too. Harsh if he misses out.

Not sure what to do with the number 7 position. It seems a waste to have a specialist batter there.

Early start tomorrow, Important toss to win. If we are batting first we'll lose.

I dunno why you say nothing is on the line. I beg to differ, we've got to fight for our lives every game and put our best 11 on the park. They all need as much exposure to tough cricket as they can get.
I'm betting Sir Dave has pulled rank with Tari. He's seen something he likes and believes the guy can get it right.
He had been long booted into touch by the system.

Tari is a highly talented player. He's a carbon copy of Wes, and everyone here agrees that Wes has a relatively high talent ceiling. Granted Wes is still very young, whereas Tari is probably pushing 30. I think its not a bad move to give him one final chance before discarding him into the waste bin for good. Some players don't do well domestically, but can still hold their own at the highest level.

I think Tari at this point is more likely to score 20 runs than Marumani. Marumani's youth gives him whatever advantage he has in that selection battle.
