Evans is a better bowler than both probably..........But I like this mix because Larry brings experience and Jongwe can defend at the death. Blessing's height and Ngarava's left arm. We've got 4 seamers who are all really different, I like that mix.
Evans offers whatever point of difference Jongwe does and is a better overall bowler and very likely a better batter too. However being able to bowl 2 very good powerplay overs which Jongwe has done in recent times can be the difference between a win and a loss.
Evans does not offer any point of difference whatsoever. He bowls decent line and length which is probably better suited to ODI and Test cricket. Chatara would be the one at risk for me, but I'd go with him in a world cup for his experience.
Jongwe has proven himself to be very valuable in T20's specifically. Evans is the new entrant remember. Jongwe is the incumbent in this format, he has got to have a bad run and be dropped before Evans is a shoe-in imo.
Also just to add to this.......I think if I wanted someone to bowl me a 1-28 off their four overs, I'd go with Evans every single time over Jongwe.
Jongwe could give you a 3-15 or a 0-55.....so he's a big risk! But I think he's more likely to be a matchwinner in this format, and when you are an all-rounder as the 4th seamer, I think thats your job. The big three bowlers should be doing the nice consistent stuff.
I rate Evans very highly though. He's going to have a long and successful career for Zimbabwe for sure!
Now the key for Blessing and Ngarava will be to bowl a good LENGTH. Not short. WIth their height it will have the same effect as the Irish bowlers bowling halfway down the pitch.
This RRR will quickly get north of 10 an over so I can't see Ireland winning this, unless Zimbabwe royally screw up the way Ireland have with the toss backed up by sloppy ass fielding.
This is a good score for sure, need to bowl decently. Scotland have defended a lower score in the earlier game, but we don't know if the pitch has eased up a bit understand lights.
the pitch looks quite skiddy so i think its probs only around a par score in all honesty. Length and fielding will be key here, gotta contain those 2s to 1s and take the catches when they come
Raza with half the total. Fantastic innings.
When was Ervine's last decent T20 knock? Has a strike rate of 103%.
Burl should bat at 3 or replace Ervine, how long will it take for them to figure out he's not a great finisher- sure he's done it a couple of times, but we'd get more value from him higher up the order. Has he ever been up the order?
Great total, have to bowl tight in this power play, they've got some good batters.
