Yeah richard slipped over on the green bit after bowling, physio came out. Looks like he did something to ankle.

Chakabva also slipped over.

Ironically ngaravas injury possibly bought the time for it to be called off although it was already raining and play should have stopped way earlier

Umpires cant resume play if its drizzling but will play on in heavy rain. That rule has never made sense.

Harsh for SA too.

The real problem as ive said before is playing cricket in october and in tasmania on top of that. Guess ICC has to please the big leagues...

This game showed a lot of the things wrong with cricket atm

Well said.

If Ngarava is injured I suppose Evans is like for like, but it should never have come to that - those conditions were too dangerous to bowl seamers on.

Game called off, 1 point for Zimbabwe.
Being honest a lucky "shower cricket" night. It ended just few minutes before The Kock could easily shelf the match.
Anyhow let's cash-in the result: for once luck has been on Zimbabwe side. Definetely the least lucky Test nation in the past 10-20 years.

I'm not pessimistic on Ngarava: reviewing the incident it didn't seem the ankle was at break risk. Let's hope so.

Reggie has failed in 4 matches now. Is it time to move him down the order to number 6 and open with Wes?

madhevere was the reason we got a point today. had he not hit that 35 runs we would have probably lost the game in two overs the way De Cock was batting and it would have been won before the rains came.

I would rather some random like mukesiwa or shingi masakadza batting at 7 at the moment rather than Shumba. At least they are six hitters, Boy is not a 20 20 player

When Dave spoke after I was little encouraged. He seemed to have identified some of the mistakes and errors, so hopefully he works on it. We are in desperate need of a good batting coach. Our batters are always trying way too much and it doesn't come off.

I'm done with Reggie as a batter. He has failed way too many times. Ervine and Williams need to start producing more. Can't really blame Willo last night. It was not his fault. That throw from Miller was too good and when I watched the replay, it looked like Wes ran into him.

Shumba needs to stop with the lap and attempt to sweep. De Kock did not play a single of these shots. He just stood at delivered. Same with Kohli yesterday. Leave the lap and reverse crap to Maxwell. We need to stick to straight bat, steady head, strong body shape. How has this not been picked up by Matsi in all his time as our batting coach.

Last night was a reality check in how far behind the big teams we are in doing the basics. We are improving in certain areas and getting better. Consistency is not as regular, and the simple things not where they need to be. Many thougth 79 was a defendable total, but De Kock made it look piss weak.

Shumba is like Craig. They are playing him in the wrong position. Let Wes and Shumba open with Craig at 3 is my solution for the next 2 weeks. Push Regis to 6 because at least he can clear the ropes. Wes and Shumba have been playing with each other for a long time. It might produce results.

The other option is to try Munyonga but I can guarantee you that you guys will be calling for Shumba to get back into the team because Munyonga will be struggling to even rotate the strike. He isn't quite ready

As soon as you see a batter trying to scoop that doesn't generally do that you know his bottle has collapsed and he's overawed by the situation. That was not a good look yesterday, we looked woefully out of our depth, more so than we should have been, we're better than that, borderline embarrassing actually, epitomised by the collision.
I was a bit surprised when I saw Chatara bowling first up at De Kock. I thought Blessing or Ngarava would have been a better option for the first over.

That was absolutely shameless of those umpires attempting to make that game happen in what looked like hard rain. I wonder when they got the instruction? Before the game started or during? I don't think we will ever get to the bottom of that, there will be a cover up.
Personally I thought we did a very poor job of complaing and trying to stretch it out and get off the field.
I initially thought Ngarava was pretending and I was toi-toing with delight. He should have stayed down and insisted on a stretcher. We should have had our seamers coming in off a 50m run up slow run up and bowling wides.

Once you go off for rain it has to stop before you come back on. In what world do you sit on the side and then think fuck it let's play in the rain and the puddles? It's a fucking disgrace what happened. I see those c"#£s on SA media were practically accusing us of cheating. They've had the thin end of the wedge in world cups and long may it continue. I'm sick of those twats looking down on us, they're not that special and their country is going down the toilet at a delightfully rapid rate. Fuck them and the horse they rode in on.
