Shakib brought his strike bowler on when he saw that Regis and Williams were getting comfortable. He read the game and thought to himself let me bowl my best bowlers out to put some serious scoreboard pressure. It worked. His next calculation was that Williams and Burl would go after him and the other spinner and then there wouldn't be much scoreboard pressure. Anybody could have come in and won the match from there. He clearly watched that 3rd T20 in Harare. Calculated risk. Clear plan. He even bowled himself first because he is the better spinner and he got Williams out. He gave Mussadek 16 runs to work with.

We had 4 fast bowlers who started really well and Ervine brought Raza on for the 6th over. Saw it didn't work and instead of bring a fast bowler back (they could have bowled 16 out of 20) he brought in Wes. Then he brought in Chatara and he went for 6 off his over. When that didn't get a wicket and the partnership was growing he brought in Williams. That worked. Now you have 5 overs left with your 3 best fast bowlers still having a full 5 you turn to your 4th best fast bowler. He goes for 16. You bring in your second best fast bowler he does really well. 2 overs left. You bring in an off spinner instead of your best bowler. SMH. I really can't believe it. NO PLAN. He was just trying everything

Raza as well has quietly had a shocker with the bat for 4 games out of 6  especially when the square boundaries got bigger. He suddenly can't buy a run. As Googly said he actually hates the short ball. He can't play it on the ground. Today he had a real brain fade but I guess those are the ups and downs of a tournament. It's just been so long. We have forgotten the roller coaster of emotions tournaments are.

Very valid Points Taps.

Credit to Bangla boys as well, they showed a lot of positivity and played really well today. Congratulations to them and to Kriterion.

Just got back from the stadium. Now I know how everyone at HSC felt in 2018. I felt the same, but being there at the ground and going through it is just different.

Fuck, we should not have lost this. I don't blame Ervine for not bowling out Blessing because we still kept them well under par and should have chased this easily. Even when we got into a winning position, we threw it away.

Our top order batters are failing way too many times and need to step up. Shumba really needs to do something. He was so lazy in the field today and missed some simple ones which led to fours. Chatara is the same. So damn lazy in the field. There was two shots right in front of me where he could easily have dived to stop a 4, but he just let them go.

I've spoken at length about our batting and again it was terrible. Willo, Burl, and to his credit Reggie came to the party, but had the top order done what the Bangladesh top did, this would have been a easy run chase. We screwed up big time.

No way should we have lost to this Bangladesh side. Fuck, this is going to hurt for days.

A nice thumping of India tonight will be some relief.

Craziest game I've seen in a while. Another last baller...this must have been what PAK fans felt in the previous match.

My key takeaways:

Bangladesh:

- 150 was a subpar total on this wicket. Opening PP was very poor, consolidation in the middle was OK, final overs slog was non-existant. A good team would have pounded 180+ or even more. Bangladesh should have gotten around 160-165, being the average team that they are.
- Shanto was solid, perhaps even brilliant. Always starts slow (run a ball), but this time lasted longer to make a decent strike rate of 130. Scores north of 60 tend to be impactful in T20s. This was his first ever white ball half-century. Loads of talent, can play both spin and pace well, and has decent power in his shots too as shown by that 87 meter six.
- Afif was decent. Everyone else sucked.
- Bowling was pretty decent. Taskin and Fizz did very well. Hasan Mahmud bowled well at the death for the most part. Mosaddek held his nerve, but he could have also lost the game. Risky move that paid off today, but 9/10 times it won't work.
- Fielding was pretty good minus a few lapses.

Zimbabwe:

- Once again a case of just one or two batters showing up (this time it was Willy and Burl). You can't always rely on Raza, but it would have been nice if 2-3 guys all decided to show up to work on the same day (same problem for Bangladesh).
- Terrible captaincy. I mean this made Mushfiqur Rahim look good. Not bowling out BM or RN was criminal. Sending Shumba up the order was also a poor move.
- Fielding lapses were in the end significant. A lot of schoolboy drops, and some shoddy ground fielding as well. Made all the difference.

I know some reckon Munyonga is not ready, but it's not like we are gaining anything from having Shumba there. Since Marumani is not in Aus, might as well use who we have.

Only bowling 12 overs of pace when we had 16 available to us was a shocker. Bowling Wes for two overs was a head scratcher.

We move on, loved the fight from the guys at the end.
