Mavuta has been excellent batting form all season. Seems a bit weird he was below Masakadza or maybe even Evans

Wow, impressed we have made it this far. Good to come home to Ballance hitting :6:

Positives already from the test

Innocent
Ballance
Mavuta as a wicket taking leggie who gives lower order runs.

I know it isn't our future but just love a test match!
Good to see you ZIMFAN. Yeah if Mavuta can give us Tiripano type innings it makes the balance of the side much better.

For 15 years people have been looking at the postiives from losing tests.

What I have noticed is,
today it will be:
Innocent/Ballance/Mavuta.

Next test itll be:

Evans/Ballance/Tiripano

The test after:

Wes/Tsiga/Ervine

What we never see is consistency where these lists are 8/9 people long.

We have never been consistent.

Just something Ive noticed.

Seems like an easy swap to get Williams in for Chamu, make the batting line-up be Kaia, Makoni, Ervine, Ballance, Williams as the top 5. I'd somehow bring in Madande as the keeper honestly, Tsiga has been disappointing and I don't think anyone wants Gumbie to be his replacement either. Probably bring in Chivanga as well. Ugh this team would've been completely different if Raza and Burl were available.

Had to look it up.

In test matches Ballance averages about 47 at number 3 from 16 innings. 6 from 2 innings at number 4. About 31 at number 5 from 6 innings. 18 from 1 innings at 6.

Craig Ervine averages 13 from 1 innings opening. About 32 from 6 innings at number 3. 49 from 7 innings at number 4. 23 at 5, about 29 at number 6 and around 30 at number 7.

The numbers seem to suggest that Ballance should be at 3 and Ervine at 4.
Yeah I’ve always thought Craig is more suited to No4 in Tests & No.3 on ODIs

Tiripano? Really?

Cannot pick Don as a bowler,

14 matches 26 wickets @47
What's Evan's record?
That’s a bit silly it’s his first test

Spot on. Ideally Williams, Madande and Chivanga in.

Not sure about Williams fitness though, and I don’t know if they will unceremoniously dump Tsiga to bring someone in from outside the initial squad. Although they should!

Can someone remind me what the go is with Regis?

I thought the feeling was that he hadnt retired.

Or is it one of those where he isnt retired, but he isnt the calibre to get him across the Indian ocean for it?
