Marumani is a very lucky boy. But I guess there is literally nobody else.
I would have had Mavuta in there tbh. How can you ignore your consistently best domestic List A bowler, year after year? I think he’s rip through some of the associate batting lineups.

Surprised to see all the comments being positive about the squad. Usually one or two controversial selections is enough to get the forum to pop off.
I think its merely a decent squad. Not having Myers over Jongwe is criminal. I'd probably even have taken Chivanga over Jongwe. You can't buy raw pace.
Madhevere and Marumani being selected is the right move. If they are the next generation, you have to play them in the biggest tournament of their careers so far. Both have been around for a while now, and have played enough caps, to not have any excuses. They must perform, especially against the lower ranked sides.

Wasn't far off with my squad really, Jongwe over Nyauchi makes sense as his bowling has been a bit off point recently.
Mavuta was another one for consideration but knew he wouldn't be selected as he rarely played against pakistan and only bowled a few overs bizarrely when he did. Gutted for him but couldn't see a fit with all the spin bowling options we have in the squad

If they choose to play all of mazakadza, chatara, ngarava and muzarbani together i am afraid we will have a very long tail

It's the batsmen's job to score runs. And we have 7 of them. Blame them if we don't score a decent total, not the bowlers.
Re: 2023 World Cup Qualifier discussion
Tough on Mavuta but to be honest this is our best possible combo for now. There is literally nobody else besides Marumani. Myers didn't play so it wouldn't have been a good look if he got picked. We just have to hope for the best. Jongwe is the lucky one
Re: 2023 World Cup Qualifier discussion
Can't play Evans over Richie. Richie is a significantly better bowler, Evans leaks runs even though he bowls OK at the back end.
Re: 2023 World Cup Qualifier discussion
Evans and Jongwe will 4th seam bowler
Ngarava Chatara and muzarabani are the starters ..
Wellington is the best option spin wise
Burl
Welly
Ngarava
Chatara
Muzarabani
