Joylord feels he's behind and doesn't really know how to shift it up slightly without risk.

He just needs to keep his head and anchor, he's doing well

Williams needs to talk to him. Tell him to get his runs behind square unless its there to bang

Ya but he's the captain. I don't think sending messages to a seasoned campaigner is the right thing.
It happens with every other nation.

For example, Gumbie is a walking wicket at the moment. Man is trying everything but hitting with a straight bat. Been dropped twice now and at the rate he is going, will be gone pretty soon. He is trying to hit the ball too hard when he just needs to move the ball around and hit through the shot. Send someone with a drink and just pass on that message.

That scooping means he's out of ideas. Williams needs to calm him down

Yeah, but if Williams is not doing it. Then send the message from the top.

It's not a hard concept. Like I said, other nations do it all the time, so why not us.

Joylord living dangerously here, seems to be trying to hit every ball hard, needs to find the balance and just the good balls to the gaps.

Can’t see him lasting too much longer if he’s reverse sweeping and paddling 2-3 times an over.

I'm not sure it happens as often as you think. Surely he can figure it out himself, he's not 15. Williams is the guy to talk to him.
Maybe he has and JG is not listening.

I love Gumbie's grit but I just feel an in form Kaia is a better in this format. He is more fluent. Its so hard to ask somebody to settle so quickly in a pressure tournament. I do see both of them being the opening pair after this tournament

Well we are seeing JG's limitations. He's not good in front of square against decent bowling.
I still like what I see for us. He's hanging in there and not losing his head completely... yet
