I say bat first against Windies and score 240, we somehow defend those than big totals.

We definitely need to fix up our fielding and bowling as well to beat the Windies. We need to strike at least once in the first 10 overs and hopefully 2-3 times by the 20-over mark.CholeZimbo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 2:33 pmI say bat first against Windies and score 240, we somehow defend those than big totals.![]()
We also need to fix up the sloppy fielding and cut down the extras, 34 is ridiculous for an ODI.
We also were quite lucky with the bat in the fact that the Dutch dropped a heap of catches. I don’t think any cost them a huge amount of runs, probably the Gumbie drop on 2 was the costliest runs wise.
A win over the Windies pretty much secures top spot and 4 points for the Super 6s and also means we get to play Sri Lanka at HSC. If we finish second that means we’ll play all our Super 6 matches at QSC Bulawayo.

Madhevere out next game. Play innocent kaia at 3 or 4. Thats where he had success against bangladesh last year.
Chatara needs a rest and Evans or Jongwe can come in.

The coaching staff should fix this. You have your core bowlers. When the go way weird you pick from the extra bowlers. Not turning to Wes whilst Masakadza hasnt even bowled. Or sticking to Chatara who is going for runs and not having Ngarava bowl his full quarter. It's tricky having so many options. Some times it makes it harder to make the decision. Raza bowled exceptionally well and our spinners have been the key for us in the middle overs." Ervine

Someone needs to help Craig with the maths ... even he said in the post-match that Ngavara is one bowler who should always bowl out his ten. Maybe crucial against WI.

Kaia is just back from injury. I can't believe I'm saying this but Madhevere owes us an innings and he's good against pace.
Evans or Jongwe certainly give us an extra batting option.

Kaia has a one day century. Just feel we need players who can score big against windies. Kaia also did reasonably well against them in the test series.

I'll even consider dropping Gumbie for Kaia for WI game and keep Madhevere. I know they won't do it but I would have. Gumbie won't do well against the WI.
