I wonder if Zimbabwe might try spin early against the Windies? Ian Bishop was just talking about how both Mayers & King average a lot less v spin rather than pace.
Maybe Wellington to open?

Wi will miss out. And yeah, its fucken horrible. All the full members should be in the wcsecretzimbo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 7:06 amIt will be really sad if either SL or WI miss out. I despise the 10-team World Cup. One of crickets worst ever decisions

Absolutely it is horrible and the ICC sucks. Their idea was, 10 years ago, that two of Bangladesh/Zimbabwe/Afghanistan/Ireland will fight with the associates for those final two slots... But Bangladesh since have been a proper mid table ODI side, and This time Afghanistan benefited from a very easy WSL schedule because no one other than the lower ranked teams wanted to play them.slcricfan1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 8:14 amWi will miss out. Now ICC regrets this but it is too late. They have taken corrective measures for 2027 and 2031 by making it a 14 team WC but for this time we have to deal with it.
Don't count Ireland out just yet... They need a win over SL and then they can even enter Super 6 with 2 points. They are capable of doing it.

Nepal could have attacked a little more with Lamichanne. They've allowed things to slip away here.

Alot can change in 4 years — the 11th best team in the world could easily slip down to 15th

Logically we want the Dutch to qualify. We will take the two points from them through and I feel they have a better chance of taking points off the teams in group B than Nepal or the USA.

Does it really matter to us which of Ned or USA wins, assuming we beat USA
Re: 2023 WCQ | non-Zimbabwe matches
No but as Zimfan1 said, Netherlands are more likely to take points off other teams than USA. So it matters to some extent as to who goes to the Super 6s.pillowprocter wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 1:23 pmDoes it really matter to us which of Ned or USA wins, assuming we beat USA
