WTF, just realized they are playing Jongwe ahead of Kaia. What disaster!sam_ahm wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 6:38 amZimbabwe have been asked to bat first and Ervine says he is happy to do so. I'm happy with that as well. Absolutely sure it is better to bat first at Bulawayo.
Evans sits out, frustrating but expected. I would have liked to see him get one more game ahead of Chatara, but it's OK.
Kaia in ahead of Marumani which makes sense.

Jongwe can bat a bit. I'd have had Kaia instead.
Evans always misses out. He hasn't done enough though. Gets half chances, not an extended one and doesn't take the decision away from the selectors by doing something really good. His time will come, I guess.

Ya the Jongwe/Kaia thing is very odd for me.

Weird! I’d have definitely picked Kaia. Do we need 4 seamers at Queens, really?!?
Or I’d have had Marumani to bat at 7 and keep wicket. Feels like it’s too much asking Joylord to open and keep

I don’t think it was a decision between Kaia or Kongwe, more so Jongwe or Marumani. I thought they might decide to open with Kaia and move Ervine back to 1st drop. This oils have allowed them to put Wes back in the middle order as well.
Seems odd that they didn’t take the chance to allow Wes some easy runs v USA, especially since they opened with Kaia and yet in this game they’ve dropped Kaia and kept Wes in the side.
All a little puzzling to me, but in Dave we trust.

I doubt that. It was an ICC draw wasn’t it?

Big call. Big big call. A couple of early wickets and it could get interesting. They have already played Oman so I'm sure they have a game plan.

It just smacks of outside interference. Can't think why, but it doesn't feel right.
It's such a huge game I'd be so surprised if anyone tried to meddle.
