Edwards won’t last long if he’s tries to sweep every ball

Scott Edwards will be key. He is a seriously underrated player.
I remember watching him bat against us last week and thinking Gumbie could learn a lot from him.
I've never understood how coaches think they can teach a guy to sweep confidently in a few net sessions though. It's such a high risk shot unless you're covering the bounce, pitching on leg or outside off. But mainly u need to cover the bounce and NOT predetermine, which is so not easy.

Guys like Flower hit hundreds of thousands of sweeps and had an aptitude for it. Some guys just can't, no matter how many balls they hit.

A double step for one is a much safer shot.

The ball isn't turning a mile. If you use your feet and get to the pitch, you can play Hasaranga (if you can't read his googlies off the hand).

BT and Williams play/played too many sweeps in my opinion. It's just a higher risk shot even when you're adept at it.

Even a reverse you don't have to predetermine. Just go for it if you see it outside off. 99%predetermine it though

You have to think on Sunday if we see Hasaranga off we have a chance. You have to think the only way that's possible is if Williams and Ervine face most of his deliveries. If that's the case then I'm not against a top 3 of Kaia Gumbie and Wes. Sounds like a dramatic change but unlike all the other games we have played, Sunday will be decided in the middle overs
