Anyways my brother Stuart Matsikenyeri has been appointed Head Coach. Whether it’s interim or what he is head coach.

It's still not clear whether DH will remain in place for this SL tour?
If his resignation is with immediate effect then it can only be Matsi or Kirby to take the helm at such short notice.
Anyone else is too big a change at such short notice.

I see Zolsky had a crack at Firdose, accusing her of being a believer in white supremacy. Clearly he doesn't follow her too closely.
There's a bunch of players missing these current Logan cup games. Maybe they need time off for Xmas shopping?
Something not stacking up here, I keep saying it, but....

No the ZC statement does say DH leaves with immediate effect and an ‘interim technical team’ will be appointed for the SL tour.
Matsi deserves to lose his job more than anyone.

I keep saying it but what a tragedy Shepherd Makunura’s death was. Just about the only local coach who probably had the goods to one day coach the national team. A temporary stint like this would have been a perfect trial for him. A real tragedy and loss for our cricket.

As for Firdose, she did an interview with Streak last year which ZC thought was an attempt to rehab his image, they reacted very angrily and she is now very much persona non-grata at Zim matches.

I keep going back to "I've lost the change-room."
There's a message there.
It's possible there's yet another split amongst the players. Someone could have put a spanner in the works.
Perhaps. But on the face of I think it’s a way of spinning the statement “this is current performance ceiling for this team for the foreseeable future, and I’m going to quite before I am fired or the board starts to question my abilities.”

I am in near total agreement with Sam and I think secretzimbo also is on the same page. The players faltered vs Scotland and Uganda (and going back the UAE game as well). To be honest, UAE and Scotland both played out of their skins with a once in the tournament performance. But the question must be asked, why does everyone suddenly play out of their skin vs Zimbabwe in a knockout game? The Uganda game was an outlier in that Uganda didn’t particularly play amazing cricket…they just played good enough to win on the day.

Of course the board and the current state of the way ICC run global cricket are also to blame for Zimbabwe’s malaise. But the players also have to take some accountability.

I wonder what will happen to the senior pros like Raza Williams and ervine . They were consistently saying it's hougton cause of which they are motivated to have an extended career . Don't think they will want to continue for long under a new coach

Was bound to happen. As usual, it is not the ones who need to go that need to go. Matsi should be the first to go. He's been a constant through all of the failures, yet will get rewarded.

If players are revolting, I can't imagine it was from the experienced guys. It's probably the ones who want to just sail by and do the bare minimum.
