Would have liked to have seen matty welch in squad. Maybe against a tough sri Lankan side its too much too soon for him but if he keeps knocking down that door with domestic runs he will put forward an irresistible case.
Apparently he was selected but some sort of communication fuckup led to him not turning up on time for match 1.

ZC in a nutshell there.

Has to be sabotage. No other way to explain it. You can't be that incompetent

I think Gumbie and Craig will be the key pieces in Sri Lanka. That bowling attack is lethal. We will need to dig in early on and pray Raza pulls it off in the middle overs. Should Craig open with him or should he stay at 3?

I know K-Long has found some form. Should we take the gamble with him hoping he maybe gets a quickfire 30 or 40 in 1 of the 3 games? I don't know honestly because those Sri Lankan bowlers are too good for anyone without a solid defence. That's my worry. I wish Clive batted up the order

Is Craig even fit/available? He usually turns up for the regional or warm-up games.

Williams we never know until the plane takes off.

Ngarava also absent. If all three of these guys don’t make the tour we are screwed.

In the ODIs, I’d actually play a top three of Gumbie/Klong/Kaia and then have the middle order go back to their old positions of Ervine 4, Williams 5, Raza 6, Burl 7. Just to give us that extra bat up top and a longer lineup. You can then have three seamers and Mufudza with the three all-rounders providing extra spin.
Harsh on Madande though, he’s done very well recently and deserves to be in the team.

Kaia is out of form, still think he will have a plane ticket because he has had a good year, but not in the starting 11 I’d put Madande at 7 and move everyone up one.

Looks like Mumba pulled his hamstring so he won’t be going to Sri Lanka, that means we will have to pick one of the weaker pacers. Here is my view on the probable 15 man squad. Although Mufudza is more hope than reality:

Gumbie
K-long
Ervine
Williams
Raza
Burl
Madande
Jongwe
Masakadza
Ngarava
Muzarabani

Kaia
Bennett
Mufudza
1 other pacer probably going be Akram :(

You know I’d actually consider Tiripano or Larry over Akram ffs.

I read somewhere that raza was one of the first purchasers of an apartment at the new zim cyber city. Looks like lush facilities there.
See national contracts can be lucrative as well as oversea gigs. Money is good if you are in top 15. It's a tale of have and the have nots.

He’s heavily involved with that lot. Highly doubt he’s paid anything near full value for it. It’ll be sponsored. He’s a famous face, it’s good for marketing.

Good for him though!! Best cricketer in the country by some distance these days, I love the guy!
