Overlord is proper, trust me. He's going to go from strength to strength. You have to as usual question how he got a bum deal for so long

To be fair he looked poor in domestic for a long time.
He must have worked very hard or just found something. He’s so much better than even 2 years ago when he wasn’t even a regular in the Mountaineers side.

Very pleased for him. He looks the business

I hope they give Mufudza another go, he wasn’t at his best the other day but still think he deserves another go.

Coaches will be worried about the long tail though and will probably revert to Welly because he can hold a bat.
And that’s a fair point.
Modern cricket doesn’t afford gentle off spin bowlers who can’t bat (and from what I’ve read, field) anymore.

To be a one trick pony off spinner you have to be king of the craft.
Williams is on par with Mufudza. Maybe even more valuable due to left arm variation.
How often have you seen Mufudza bowl? Categorically he is a better bowler than Williams. It really is no contest.
I watched him against Sri Lanka.
He hasnt taken one wicket yet, I didn’t see any that even came close.
Williams has a similar run restricting ability but is good for one or
Two wickets an innings. He also bats at number 4 and scores centuries.
Even compared to when Raza bowled at the other end you often got the feeling he was about to take a wicket, and he has been taking a couple every spell. He beat the bat many times.
I imagined myself out in the middle and Mufudza was the one who looked easiest to face.
You’re biased because you’ve been supporting his cause for a while.
You’ll come back to me and say he’s accurate and he is relatively accurate but I guarantee someone like Glenn Maxwell will cart him for 20+ runs an over.
He’s a gentle offie and nothing more. He needs wicket taking deliveries or some batting ability like Prosper used to have.

I’d definitely give him one more shot this game but if I see another 0-50 type spell let’s agree to face reality.

Age and batting wisdom go together.

Overlord turned the corner when he started to bat with Ben Compton. Before he struggled with confidence and could never get going, he would always play a rash shot under pressure when it was not his game.

He has shown that even with his style he can get a strike rate close to 100.

You are judging him from 1 performance?!?!

FYI he has been the leading wicket taker in I think the last two NPL’s and the last two Pro50’s.

Weather looks bleak but I have just checked the forecast and it says it will stop raining at 4 Sri Lanka time (half an hours time) so we may still get a game out of this.

And leading wicket taker in last year's Logan Cup too.

It’s the technique and a solid defence. We sometimes forget that the most basic thing for a batsman is a solid defence. Some of our guys score tons of runs domestically but you just know under pressure they will crack because they don’t have a good technique. Maru, TK and Wes are good examples of this. Kaia is a good example of the opposite where they need to back him more because he has the skill set. I would say Madande has some decent technique as well.

Same story though, needs tight bowling from the other end so they go after him. Has immaculate control of line and length.
