9/136 against America?
I’d expect a better showing in a T20 game. Worrying sign.

31 overs rather than 50. They still won!

It's been pissing it down for the past month. Can't imagine they are good batting surfaces they are playing on tbh.

In the warm-ups they have a series victory over Ireland, a victory over the US and were competitive against Bangladesh so they should be going in to the tournament with a good amount of confidence.

Really the only expectation is to just beat Namibia at all costs. And hopefully not get too badly pumped against Australia - that could be brutal!!!

I don't see any reason why this team can't do well. I think this is a very good team and I'll stick my neck out and say they will do better than the teams before them. A top 8 finish will be something I'll be hoping for.

I think you’ll be disappointed.

My only concern was when they got spanked by the Dolphins u19. It wasn’t even close. I hope you are right. In the end for me it’s more about finding 2 or 3 guys who stick out

There are definitely 2 or 3 good guys. The problem is the rest of the squad. We are producing fewer decent youngsters as the years pass unfortunately.

If they beat Namibia it will be a decent tournament for them. Expecting much above that might be a struggle.

Apparently Mohammad Nabi's son and Rashid Khan's nephew are in the Afghan U-19 side.

Nabi's son is listed as age 17, but has a full beard...so will be fun to follow the reaction to these men erm boys here on ZCF
