Could still get picked by a miracle but I saw the pressure Raza was under this year. They didn't even trust him and he would sometimes come in at number 8. The standard is high.

Unfortunately thats why national team performances matter. Had they gone to India for the ODI World Cup and Ngarava performed the way he was performing he would have had a chance. Some of these failures are detrimental to their own careers.

Raza got picked when we were doing well. We had knocked over Pakistan and Australia and Bangladesh. Raza scored a century against a weakened India. Those are the things that get you noticed. Raza was also doing well in the other T20 leagues.

It's a long journey to the IPL for players like ours.
Exactly . With no high quality televised games to show it has really affected their chances . You won't believe the kind of publicity Netherlands boys got after the worldcup .almost everyone now is aware of Scott Edwards (and loves him) . They should first target other T20 gigs like psl or BBL would be massive . IPL will come eventually . They are still pretty young

Let's face it... They didn't have a realistic chance.

However... given that in the new year there is BBL, ILT20, SA20, BPL and PSL in very quick succession with a lot of overlaps, there may well be quite a lot of opportunities for a few unlikely overseas players.

Ngarava did really well in his first BPL game. 1 wicket but very economical in a fairly high scoring game.

Burl was on the bench tho.

Another 48 off 23 from Raza today after his MOTM performance 2 days ago. And people still think he isn't world class?

The guys got one shot, the hook/pull/hoick to mid wicket and that too versus balls traveling at under 130 kph. If he can do that against Starc or Bumrah or Lockie consistently, I’ll be impressed.

That being said I was surprised to see him average 35 against the top 10 sides in ODIs the past 9 years. I expected him to be in the late 20s. But he’s right up there just behind Williams. So credit there for sure.
