Shanto 93% control so far (80 middled, 13 left) seems pretty good by comparison to everyone else in the match from either side with all the dismissals behind the wicket.

In the first innings when he walked in there was a small crowd shouting Shanto you're shit!
What's going on with that?
Oh he's one of the MOST HATED players in BD. He'll get love when he hits 100s of course...but he's criticized on social media nonstop due to his poor record in Tests and T20Is, and yet he's been given some of the longest rope in BD cricket history (Liton Das is the only guy who's had a longer rope).

Shanto says he nearly retired back in 2022 due to the constant barrage of social media attacks.

They should have brought Matigimu on this tour. Very strange to leave him behind. Ngarava looks like he needs a break. The brains trust will see them play Gwandu in the next test smh

I know you have a new coaching setup who wants to do things their own way but there is some stubbornness about them. Look at Nyauchi, it really took some convincing for him to get his chance and he has shown he is decent.

Matigimu was bowling well against a Durham team who could probably beat both these sides in a 3 match series. What else do you need to see? He even bowled better than Gwandu in the regional game. He can bat better than all the fast bowlers. It's just strange. They are the same age so there is no issue there.

Trevor has picked up 26 FC wickets in 24 games at an average of 47. Matigimu has picked up 13 wickets in 4 games. I hate comparing our own guys but there is a lack of critical thinking here. How do you explain someone struggling in the Logan Cup getting so many opportunities? Elton needs to stick to the academy

Keeper not having a great one. Zimbabwe has lost some good keepers through the problems of the last ten years/selection issues.

Eg chakabva retired early. Lost PJ moor. Lost Ryan Murray, Dane schandendorf playing county. Any others?
When did Chakabva retire lol? Please don't say things you have no idea about.

Moved to Australia at 35 to play club cricket. Hardly a warming indictment of Zim cricket. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.herald ... ralia/amp/

Well then look at Evans' stats.
I rate Gimu but he's not as good as Evans.

His test bowling average is more than double his first class average; 57 vs 26
His ODI bowling average is an increase of 33% over his list A average; 40 vs 30
His t20i bowling average is double his domestic t20 average; 30 vs 15

Is he awesome? Really?

Looks to be a huge gulf between what he’s doing at kwekwe on a Thursday morning and on bet365 when the chips are down.

Sure, he’s played one test, you can have that. He’s played plenty of white ball though. Look at someone like blessing and international vs domestic and the numbers are much closer together.

And what about his batting record? Considering him as an all-rounder, looking at his batting record is not good, as they are saying.
