Cuz I trust my eyes. He’s 6-2 plus or minus an inch. Williams is prolly 6 foot even or around there.

He might have been once upon a time. Not now though. His old back won’t let him stand straight these days

How common are athletes like Blessing and Ngarava in Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe school cricket? Is their height and athleticism rare or can Zimbabwe build a long term side on fast bowling and expect more bowlers like them to emerge or are these two anomalies? With good fast bowlers you can prepare assistive pitches, don't know why they play Tests in Bulawayo when they seem to be spinning slow wickets there?

I have been saying this for ages. It's just about getting them to play cricket but trust me they are there. It's the next phase of development. Going from trying to neutralise opponents to building an identity and then preparing pitches that suit that. The final phase is then finding good players in all departments.

I see no reason why we can’t have a pace attack to rival any of the top 3 nations.
In Zimbabwe you have the people, the athletes, and cricket is one of the only sports a kid can make a good living at.

And yet really athletic looking guys don't get it much above 130. It's very strange. That new tech that shows run up speed, arm speed, wrist speed and final ball speed would be useful.
A lot of our guys don't use the wrist enuf. In fact I've seen a couple of coaches encourage a firmer wrist to improve accuracy
Very few have that little marginal elbow "flick" that also adds pace.
The schools play quite a bit of T20 and seamers are encouraged to bowl off shorter run ups to get thru the overs and to be accurate when they should just be encouraged to bowl fast.
Very few bowl over a straight front leg either. That's a pace killer right there.

They're allowed 15 degrees. A good example is Dale Steyn. Watch a slo mo of him, he's got quite a few degrees of flex and no doubt it makes him a bit quicker.
