[Match thread] Only Test - Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh
Re: [Match thread] Only Test - Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh
I'm desperate for a Taibu milestone, to prove he's the elder statesman of this side. At the moment he's showing true grit. I'm happy.

Some very nice
in that last Shakib over by Taylor and Taibu.
150 up!
Partnership now worth 59 runs, the guys are both playing with a bit of grit as you said Boundary.
Why is it so quiet on here?

Just a little nervous to say anything too positive and put a hex on the boys. 150 up which is good, just another hundred or so more needed. Going at a decent rate these two. Hope they both make 50's
It seems that whenever there is pressure on our batsmen respond well and play decently, but they seem to relax when in good positions and get lazy.

Lovely off drive by Taibu
Followed up by a shot straight through the legs of short leg. Well placed?
Lucky for the fielder it wasn't a few inches higher.

Good calculated start by our pair!Boundary wrote:I'm desperate for a Taibu milestone, to prove he's the elder statesman of this side. At the moment he's showing true grit. I'm happy.
I've always put Taibu low down the order in my suggested lineups because, arguably more than our other batsment, he is dependable and provides the sense of security that until he's dislodged we're in with a chance. Though not the most technically correct, he is so assured and confident that he can operate normally whatever the situation. He would be bettter used at 3, but is most valuable at 6/7.
The captaincy and bowling by the Bangladeshis is not putting Taibu&Taylor under any pressure at all. They are going along easily so an overall lead of 350+ dec is looking attainable.

Was worried they'd go to pieces this morning after last night's woes, but they've started the day in a wonderfully positive way. And the pendulum swings back our way again.
Out and about for most of today, hopefully I'll get back this evening to see we got that 350-380 run lead. Fingers crossed.

It looks like now that the 250 lead has been established Shakib is bowling a defensive line outside leg stump. Taibu looks up to the challenge though, consecutive

It's great that we are not hanging around, if we had let the spinners bowl at us and tried to survive we would most likely have got into trouble, like yesterday evening. Now the pressure is on Bangladesh.
