I have absolutely zero doubt that Raza will play. Im also pretty sure he'll be our best player in this match.

Some people really seem to enjoy questioning him and doubting him. Bizarre considering all that he has achieved.
I have no doubt about his talent, only about his commitment to Zimbabwe these days when he seems so keen to chase the big bucks.

It would be interesting to know what deal he's made with ZC. I'd think it's a white ball deal and the pressure is on him to now play red ball.
Clearly he's being well paid, certainly in comparison to the other Zim players, but nothing compared to the big teams, or the bosses
It's hard to criticise a guy with a couple of years left who's in his position, from not trying to make as much money as he can. I don't think there's a single player here who wouldn't have done what he's done, given the opportunity. Even if he were 10 years younger it would be hard to be critical.
It's the same situation as the West Indian T20 guys, Raza at least makes himself available for all the white ball stuff and ZC are not in a position to turn him away, nor should they.

When he is around he has undue influence though and that's definitely detrimental. Again that happens in most teams. Personalities will always clash.

What will be interesting is if this 10k a test thing ever comes into play. Then you're going to see some monumental shenanigans and some serious ill-feeling.
I mean guys train hard to get onto a "liveable" 3k a month central contract. Throw in 10k a game hopefully coming directly from ICC and all hell is going to break loose.

10k in hand, less tax, is literally a life changing amount for most guys.
I'm profoundly suspicious of the tax implications

A 6 month flash deal would be good for him wot then tests we have ahead.

I actually don’t mind him floating in and out of the test squad. I sort of view him as test retired but if he’s free he will put his hand up.

(unfortunately) 100% correct.
Raza has given a lot more than what has received from his Country. It's (sadly) comprehesible if he wants to leverage on his last years of professional cricket.

That's not true. Zim has been the platform on which he's made a name for himself with his one man band outings.
We'd have not won a game without him and he'd be nowhere without Zim. It's been a fair trade.

I like the Chivanga call up. Good variety of seamers. I think our bowling attack is good enough to restrict England

Really comes down to the batting. I get the argument to play an extra batsmen and I would agree if Raza wasn't playing. There has to be a century from one of Raza, Williams or Ervine.

It would be impressive if Zimbabwe makes England bat twice
