Let’s wait until Zimbabwe bat on this

But the bowling has been wayward. No pressure and Chivanga looks to have lost pace?

Batsmen finally makes a mistake.

Commentators also picking up how conservative Craig is as a captain. Understandably because the bowlers are wayward, but you have to think you're going to win.

Pope is an interesting guy, he was an unbelievable junior footballer and had a professional future, but opted for cricket.

Zimbabwe can't get a wicket while England cruising at a run rate whcich is almost T20-like.

It may be sad but this is the (not unexpected) reality.

While I'm very glad for the overall number of Tests Zimbabwe would play this year, I can't but figure out that Zimbabwe Tests against England (or Australia, or India, etc.) do not make sense.

It's not shameful if WTC would become a 12 Countries two tiers competition: best 8 and second tier 4 in two different contesting robins with promotion and relegation.
Of course they make sense. How else do you pull yourself up a level? Also drives home to our muppet selectors that we have to pick our best players and not turn away guys like Higgins.
This match may go to 400 for 0 declared. Then in second day England completes both Zim innings and win by an inning without one single wicket made by Zimbabwe.
Can you see any sense in such scenario?

I'd prefer to see a WTC with 12 nations with promotion/relegation.
I'm envisaging a 8 nations first tier + 4 in second tier. Maybe 6 + 6.

A Test which may end in a copuple of days with no wicket taken by one side is not making increase level: it is conducive to harm self esteem of Zimbabwean players.
Again no. This is how Zim started all those years ago with Houghton. They used to get minced and they stuck with the guys that they figured could go up a level and they slowly but surely over many games got more and more competitive.
We're back 40 years having to do it again. Its progress of sorts  May as well start today.

The usual sycophants point out our early problems, but those teams did improve. We've been in that starter phase for the last 25 years because of poor management and selections.
We've got some decent players, it can be done.

282 after 50 overs would be a good total for an ODI game

The way these English commentators talk about how we are substandard is like a dagger in my heart. They're not wrong, but it is horrible to hear from these pompous twats.
Morgan is a twat and Atherton is worse.
How do we get back to where we were under the current leadership who's only real interest is money, control and status quo?

And Batonka stadium and 300 Series landcruisers.
Some green label and cream soda and put this behind us, I guess.
