Ben Curran is good enough for Zimbabwe. He probably won’t score a lot of runs against big teams but he will be pretty good against the likes of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afg, Ireland and SL plus the associates

These two need to take us to 100 now at least. I just don't have the faith in Raza that others seem to. I reckon Williams will come out with his usual fire and grit, I see wez scoring a very attractive 30 odd and then getting caught behind somewhere.

I don't know how Ervine is going to score runs on fast bouncy wickets. He has such an open face, even when defending. Looks oozy elegant when he comes off but when a ball rises slightly he's using half a bat

I know there’s a quota system and zimbos here get annoyed when someone mentions white players but I think Zimbabwe should have let go the quota system for this match and this should have been the lineup
Bennett
Curran
Welch
Ervine
Williams
Raza
Madande
Evans
Welly
Ngarava
Blessing
Zimbabwe won’t just miss the bowling of Evans but also his batting. Zimbabwe should really try for Higgins, I know he won’t be registered as a local player in county but since Brexit, they now allow two foreign players in playing XI and Higgins can easily make it to some crap Div 2 team like Glamorgan even as an overseas

I think Curran is absolutely player who should be stuck with, but that glitch he has with his bat coming down at an angle is only going to hinder his ability to score on bouncing wickets.
He'll come good. That ODI ton against the Irish was a serious international knock and opened up a few eyes to how good he can be. Also has a weapon in that front foot pull. That isn't an easy shot to play and he does so with great power and precision.
