Will the SA match be a 11-a-side FC match, or more like a unofficial warmup where teans use the full squads?
Is a warmup game. Southafrica would want to try all their players before the WTC finals

Can't say I'm surprised by the result. For some time now, we've been a team of individuals. No team effort. It's always 1 or 2 who perform.

Bit bemused by Currans tactics in the second half. He was moving too slowly. It's clear we went back in that 2nd innings thinking we just need to try for a draw, which is the wrong mentality. We really need a sports psychologist. We really need to add in some standards and some real mentality.

I'm prepared for a long period of mediocrity where we get destroyed by the big boys, and only challenge the lower level. We truly have fallen to the lowest of depths. Absolutely no thanks to Mukhulani.

I know Weve lost by an innings but we haven’t overly disgraced ourselves. Most of our players showed good glimpses at times. Plenty to work with and hopefully we will see a further improvement at home against SA and NZ.

For the first time in a long time the bowling is more of a worry than the batting.
Yeah this is a pretty solid performance. Wasnt a cakewalk for England

Solid effort.
Would have loved to make them bat again. Difficulty to do when your a batter down. I think people forget that we used to get bowled out for 100 whether it was 5, 10 or 20 years ago.

Willow deserved a ton.
Bennett is the golden boy.
Blessing is still up there with the best bowlers in the world at the moment.

Let’s see how they go against South Africa

I dont think its so much his mrntality, its just him. He is fairly limited.

I mean really Williams. Ervine and Raza should have been allowed to retire by now. They and we need to look to the future over the next ten tests. Players like Bennett, welch, any other fast bowlers , that leg Spinner need to be looked at as the future.

Ervine needs to retire
I agree. Time to get Welch in for a solid run at 3 and give him the 4 Tests against SA & NZ.

Williams again showed his class. That partnership with Curran was really promising and had they been there for another session with some tired England bowlers and Raza to come in, then who knows. Still livid over that lbw.

Certainly not a embarrassing overall performance like I feared. Still well beaten but I think the English administrators and broadcasters would be satisfied. Looks like in the next FTP, England will come to Zim and maybe even a Test series. We'll see.

Yeah. We gave a decent account of ourselves. Excellent memories for Bennet, and good stuff by Sean and Blessing in particular, with others pitching in here and there.

Apart from Williams, Raza, Ngarava and Muzarabani, I would expect everyone else to back up for the 4 day match against South Africa

Was a pretty decent effort from Zimbabwe. Maybe not eye-popping but a very OK performance. It was basically a full strength England side so you've got to factor that in.

Yes, agree, a Very Ok performance.

Good spirit, good effort, some good skill here and there. No capitulation. With two more wickets we might have squeezed a 10 wicket loss.

A really enjoyable event with great Zim crowd and enough English fans to have a good number of seats full across the 3 days.

I'm happy with the settling down of opening combos for both batsmen and bolwers.

Our third seamer, spinner and keeper are still gaping holes.
