Zimbabwe vs New Zealand/ 2nd T20/ Tri-Series/ Hre 18 July 2025

Post by Googly »

Some big decisions for the selectors where they bat Clive and Wes.
NZ actually bowled really poorly to Peppa Pig. Just got their lengths wrong and were bowling too full. They got it right and dragged it back, but after he'd got away.

Dont think they will do that again.

Is Blessing playing or not? He's had a bereavement I believe, plus they were threatening to rest him.

I think he needs a rest, bereavement aside.

Last year even before the Afghanistan and Pakistan series they said they were going to rotate blessing and Richie with this big year of cricket coming up. They’ve not done this at all and it’s now July. Richie went man down in England but had probably played every game that point and I think blessing has played every game.

Nothing but the qualifiers matter now and they need to be fresh for that.

Clive and Wez  they’ve backed themselves into a corner with those selections and are stuck with them. Maybe they could do like they did in that Uganda (?) game and just bring everyone else in before them. Wellington in at six or whatever with no faith in Clive and Wez.

Raza needs to open then he can make a big score and get off to a good start. Need to be ahead of the 8 ball from ball one then you can afford to take the foot off the gas, we do it the other way. Run a ball and hope for a big over at the end. That’s like 15 years out of date tactics

If I were them I'd keep Wes up, swap Toni with Madande and bat Musekiwa ahead of Raza
Maphosa in for Blessing, but I suspect it will be Newman

They won’t do any of this

Newman in for blessing and keep everything else the same as the last game having taken some positives and learnt some lessons.

I agree with bringing Tony up.
If Bennett goes out early. I cant see Wes and Clive going at high enough strike rates.

I would have thought Maphosa but if they don't play Newman soon we would have wasted a spot in the squad for someone else.

Not cricket but I've just read that Gov plans to force private hospitals to take emergency cases. Gov hospitals are dead in the water, they dont even have headache tablets. This has enormous repercussions.

Sables in their do or die attempt to qualify against Namibia today. Gonna be tough to decide which to watch. Maybe both

So you scratch around and pay huge medical aid expenses and you wont be able to get medical treatment because there's a queue of people in front of you getting it for free.
Same old movie, what a disaster.

Ya i saw that earlier. Its would be enormous if we beat Namibia. This is our best chance at it. Haven't really followed them, but will definitely be watching.
