Bennett was poor today. Kept swinging and missing at the away swing. Was never going to even reach one standing outside leg. Had to trigger to off to access it. That was pretty one dimensional of him. The cricketing gods smile on him, should have nicked off about 6 times.

Wes's runa ball 30 has given him a 10 year contract extension. At least some time in the middle but he's not a T20 player. Resorted to reversing, which was a good option and then clearing far too wide down leg to try and slap it square. These guys hit good lengths and our batters had no answer. He did advance and try go over the top, but missed it. Held his shape though, was the right shot.

One more time- Clive is not an international standard batsman in any format. Sorry man. They can give him another 200 games and probably will.

Even when we were way behind the 8 ball, Raza was more than willing to dink it around because there's no-one else that can do the job and he knows it, despite what he says in interviews. The reality was this bowling keeps most people quiet and he was also struggling. You need the full array of shots and be able to change your plan of attack on the fly.

Burl's cover slap is a good shot for a lot of these deliveries. That up and over was the right option but either didnt get enuf on it or didn't hit it hard enuf.

Musekiwa is not a finisher at this level. Musekiwa is one of the few willing to try and hit it in front of square though. Neither is Toni. He kept persevering with the sweep from outside off when the reverse was the better and easier option. Madhevere plays it well.


We can give these guys another 100 games ea against this level of oppostion and the results will be the same. We will have this same conversation in 4 years time because ZC are determined to persevere with guys that dont have the game for this level.

Wes's 30 is enuf to get Frank posting coffee shop cabal stuff again.
He's got the ability to play at this level, but T20 is not his format. We need guys that can slap 6's.

The only guy left to try in the squad is Dion isnt it?
They just have to leave Clive out of this level. His best chance is coming in late, having a good hoik over cow and getting 10 off 6. Thats the bar for continued reselection.
