The article is written in the most propaganda way. This man is a cancer that wont go away.

Also, they had a meeting for African cricket in Singapore. Can you imagine all the money spent on first class flights, fancy hotel rooms and massive shopping sprees. Probably took their families too.

Apparently these are his current roles-
Zimbabwe Cricket chairman, Africa Cricket chairman, iCC director, iCC finance and commercial affairs committee member and iCC Olympic committee chairperson.

I dont know whether he's still an MP or not. He's a busy guy, and clearly very smart.

He's managed to get us a chunk more money, we've hosted innumerable qualifiers, he's got our small handful of women on the map. He's done a lot of things well. Clearly a persuasive and capable man.

One of my worries is we may end up having to play a lot of games against African sides. There's no upside to this for us, certainly not for our main side.
In the absence of other games it's ok for A sides to play them and Uganda are looking strong. Nambia will always be worthwhile opposition as well. - its cheap and easy to organize. We dont want to be used to make African sides better, thats essentially what Afghanistan did to us.
Games against Ghana, Mozambique and the like are one of the reasons why we're seeing a couple of players getting long opportunites against teams they have no chance against.

Isnt the ICC AGM also being held in Singapore at the same time. So effectively they are holding the African thing on the sidelines on the mean ICC meeting thereby cutting costs and time as opposed to doing a whole separate meeting.

Yes.
Odd place to hold it though when the ICC head office is in Dubai.

He does seem to be doing a whole lot.

Dont see whats wrong with us helping improve the level of cricket in Africa. SA helped us in particular. A lot of Asian countries are very competitive which is good. Uganda are definitely doing something right with their cricket. They will surely give us a run in the up coming qualifiers. Surely our A side could get alot of exposure playing some of these african sides at a fraction of the cost. Zimbabwe has just hit a ceiling and we always seem to be on the receiving end when facing test playing nations. Imagine SA second string sides are running ropes around us. The drive is making cricket a global sport. Wouldnt imagine the Uganda games selling TV rights but thats were we find ourselves at the minute.

The only upside of playing Uganda is learning what to expect in the qualifiers
Losing to them at any stage is/has been hugely damaging.
A side not as embarrassing, but not far off.

We've hit a ceiling because that's the ceiling of some of our players.
I keep posting our best T20 side..and its a good one.
If after 25 years we cant get better players coming thru our domestic ranks we need to change the plan, not keep head butting the wall hoping for a different result.
Weve got a couple of good guys that ZC refuse to look at as well.
