Surely a Rhodie culture would be better than a SAFA culture?

In fairness to ZC I dont think they've completely discarded him, I think Evans just has to shut up and face the front and be the best he can be. ZC have actually tolerated quite a few flawed people, they're pretty good in that regard. I mean they tolerated Vermeulen and he really should have been booted into touch for a lot of what he did.

He apparently did get a call saying he was no longer on the radar and to go forth and multiply, but I don't know the context of it. They gave him a game against Worcestershire, he bowled at the squad before the England game, so either thats been exaggerated or taken out of context.

It should be crystal clear to him that he's still in with a long shot, but has to keep quiet and try and be at least 20% better than his competition. And he had to learn how to make runs somehow. Chitaira is coming with oressure. Macheka is coming with pressure. Competition for seaming spots is tough. Anyone securing those spots is going to have to be good, and/or bat.
Well said Googly, ZC have actually tolerated a lot of worse BS than what Brad Evans has done. There are players who are still playing who would think they don't want to go on tour anymore when they have checked in at airport and stay behind. Then 4 days later they think they wanna travel and they will get new tickets and be welcomed into the squad.

But gone are those days now. Sammonds has brought in a no nonsense SAFA culture within the team.
What does ZC think about Sammonds? 1 year report card.

Well it has to be frustrating for ZC. He's not winning games with the players he's being given. I dont believe he's selecting that final 11 every time either and I dont think hes had much input into the squad selection, not that he's supposed to get that. We're in a position where a highly qualified excellent coach with good support staff clearly knows nothing about selections. That has to be done by someone who knows a lot less. Doesn't make sense.

This is the same movie, different day, year 25.
Its gotten so bad that BT now feels hes got license to invite his 40 year old mate from Dubai to come and play.
Are the Old Codgers Club going to be asked to save the day at the 11th hour?

I've just listened to an interview when he was asked about selections and he rambled on about something or other and then said- let's just leave it at that
I mean thats code for jeez this is frustrating, I'mbat my wits' end, I'm not Miracle Max.

He's facing the same hurdle every coach has faced, he cant seem to make an international player out of a guy that doesnt have the capacity to begin with. At what point do you stop flogging a dead horse?

The fact that that interview is not being aired by anybody tells a story.
