I really couldn’t care less old smith dawg saw this coming 50 years ago and here we are.
ZC’s crowing glory is nothing. Literally nothing old bt aged 40 years old and fresh off a ban is pressganged into the squad out of sheer desperation to qualify because the zanu and zipra lads can’t bat like literally how embarrassing for their own system must that be
The white guys knew what would happen, the black guys did too if they’re honest. Here we are, a handful of people got what they wanted (or at least what they thought they wanted) and everyone else is just watching the train wreck
The funniest part of the whole sorry affair is black guys like tawanda or jonty taking the gap to play in England and pay income tax to the mean old coloniser like things weren’t so bad obviously haha
Zolsky's latest post is blaming the 4 private schools we have for not coaching their cricketers properly. They are entirely to blame for the state of our u19 cricket.
We are so fucked.

I have to unpack this a little further. Its an admission that there's actually no such thing as age group cricket, because you'd be sticking with more or less the same guys from U13 and they'd presumably have some skills and knowledge by u19.
Its a further admission that the fairy story grass roots is just that, because its the same old schools with ZC Wise Owls thrown in.
Heres the sad part- head coach of St John's is none other than David Mutendira. Talk about getting thrown under the bus!
The head coach of Hellenic was that dread locked guy that is now in ZC's employ. Knows the square root of FA.
What Hellenic should negotiate is that you graduate from High School as a Greek with full indigenous status.
I'm white, and although this would never happen, if there was ever a sport that excluded black players to put lesser white athletes in, and we got belted repeatedly as a result, I'd actually feel ashamed and make me question if my race is inferior. I'd be embarrassed that it was not earnt, I'd also be ashamed that this came at the cost of someone else just because of their race. The closest equivalent I can think of was Raygun at the olympics.
I actually think this would be the normal position of someone that expects excellence and innovation.
Obviously Zim Cricket do not have these feelings of shame and embarrassment. They are happy to see 'their own' belted repeatedly, as long as its their own. To me this is on the level of cuckolding.
I watch alot of fan comments from black african fans and the impression I get is they are sick to death of it all too and just want the joy of winning.
I have a question to the black African members here, do you feel ashamed in the same way I described in the first paragraph? Or is this a white/asian thing regarding honour only?
I'm black and I have lived in Zim all my life. My thoughts below:
There's a subset of Black Zimbabweans who will always prioritise tribal affiliation over merit. Like you said, to them, winning doesn't matter as long as "their own people" are in charge. They despise meritocracies, perhaps because they know they'd struggle in one. Their only path to power is to forcibly occupy key positions and eliminate any threats, especially the competent. By their own warped metrics, they are "succeeding", therefore, shame isn't really part of the equation.
Then there are those who value winning and merit. Do they feel ashamed of their race because a small group of incompetent bottom feeders are f***ing things up? I don't think so. Those in charge of ZC are not representative of the entire race of Black Zimbabweans. In fact, they are hated by most. It's just that they have the guns.
I'm really curious to read other forumites' perspective on this subject. Black or white.
