Brian Vitori. Product of the franchise system and potential world-beater. Look at the way they found him, and go find more in the same way. Far more use to us than players of the past era that people really need to get over.
Wouldnt every player be a product of the franchise system?

Also I believe before we get too stuck into vitori love let's not lose sight of the fact he has only done this against Bangladesh who are probably as strong as the tuskers ATM. As impressive as he has been against them until we see him against a good bat we don't know for sure.

Also I think Murray could still be good for our test line up but we missed a golden chance to grab him early 2010 when he was thinking about it as we could have used him for the World cup

I think we should get Sean Ervine back. Wasn't there a thread about him somewhere on this forum?

players like goodwin , ervine, williams, cameron ,ireland and ballance in zim would create major competition for spots and the A team would be quality players like craig ervine chigumbura mawayo would be having to fight there hardest to make the team. im not sayin cameron and ireland, williams ect would jump straight back into the team but them in the first class system would be great for zim cricket and would be close to the strongest zim team we have had. people saying its time to move on deep down you all know its better for the health of zim cricket yes they might have left but if someone said to you all these players want to come back , do you want them to?? your answer would be yes unless you are mentally retarded. goodwin type players are extremely rare the only player in the team at the moment who will be a greater playe than hhim when his career is over is brendan taylor. rest simply dnt have the class. Sean ervine was once said if he played the same amount of cricket as streak wuld have a overall better record and be one of zims all times great, him coming back would help craig and also help the team so much, as much as evryone thinks hes a trader you cannot blame the lad for not trusting zim cricket look at the rebel stage years ago.he has a county contract and good pay with a nice country to live in if he sacrificed that and got dogged he would be emberased and devostated. people stop kidding yourselfs that we dont need these players because we do

Some of the players you mention are quality but as you justify in the case of Ervine they DONT want to come back. Its like sitting around for the rest of your life waiting for your long lost teenage sweetheart until yr 50s. Life and better girls will pass you by. Let them carry on with their choices and we should continue to work with the Jarvises and Vitoris we have. I mean these guys have been tried and even given places in tihe team without working for them (Ervine) and just turned away last minute literally...I say lets move on they have...Of those you mention Id try get Ballance for test and Cameron as ODI allrounder if they are interested. Goodwin would be nice to have but for how long? thats not building a future. Ireland is not better than Vitori or Jarvis atm. Williams would shake up Craig...but if they dont want to come lm happy with what we have.
1. Mawoyo 2. Duffin 3. Sibanda 4. Taylor 5. Masakadza 6. Williams 7. Chakabva 8. Creamer 9. Jarvis 10. Rainsford 11. Mpofu

Nope. Of the team likely to play today, Vitori, Jarvis, Ervine I would count as being "products" of the franchises - the rest were around before then. Point I'm trying to make is that the current setup seems far more geared for identifying & nurturing talent, with decent provincial coaches - the previous setup (Northerns et al) seemed more like a few random sides chucked on the field each week, we didn't even know who half the provincial coaches were.

Goodwin's almost 39, so I'm guessing his international playing days are over. However, I wonder if he could become a part of the coaching setup like Streak and Grant once he retires.

goodwin could play to hes 41 at least and come tests against say england australia ect mawayo and ervine ect will be exposed just wait and see.
Goodwin will be fifty before we get to play the Aussies let alone England. :(
Of course he's pure class and still produces the goods for Sussex. But even the though of getting him to coach in Zim looks far off to me. I remember his wife just couldn't settle in Zim last time around.
