In Musekiwa and Maposa there is absolutely something to work with in this format. I'd stick with them. No idea why Madande is in this side, I really don't. He's been quietly shite for some time.
Evans looks to have had a half decent day with the ball again which is good to see. Mazakadza going at 11 an over...when we have Cremer in the squad with a bowling average of 17 I think in T20 internationals. Just silly..it really is. I don't think we're a million miles off in terms of selection.
Myers and Madande shouldn't have been there, which is very apparent. I rate Myers and think he's got something..but not in this format.
Would love to see Welch in this side. Him and Bennett up top against the new pill would be good to see.
Marumani and Burl I would stick with, as they have the ability to hit those much needed 6's which most of the batters don't seem capable of hitting.

Didn't embarrass themselves with the bat today, but the Afghans were missing two of their best bowlers as well. I like to see some fresh faces in the squad for the tri-series. Not the same recycled rubbish

Taylor should be done with the T20 format. He's just not capable anymore
I don't agree. There are still three months before World T20.
This time could be of the essence for him to catch-up to his previous standards.

Meanwhile, although without Rashid, Afghanistan scored sound 210 runs. Zimbabawe went just short of nine runs.
At the beginning of 2025 who would foresee a Zim squad being able to score more than 200 runs in a T20?
The improvement exists.
Now there is to fine tune the team in the three months before World T20.
"Fine tuning" would include to let B.Curran and Welch be given a trial in next matches before World T20.

His stats get skewed bowling in the powerplay  today his economy was 7 outside the power play and Friday it was 2.3 outside the powerplay.

Raza is throwing him under the bus making him bowl that opening over   he should do it himself with his mystery spin if he wants spin in the powerplay but doesn’t. I don’t necessarily see Cremer being any better either.

What gets me about tail enders is that 9 times out of ten they have to come in and try and win the match, especially in our team, and yet you can see they spend very little time holding a bat.
Maposa looks ok with the bat, but he got carted bowling short on Friday and was worse today. You cant bowl 130 and short on a good deck to guys of this calibre. Absolutely zero learning curve. That is surely where Raza sprints across and starts shouting? Surely!!
Wellie looks shite with the bat these days, definitely gone backwards in that dept.
Evans looks pretty good. Was a bit unlucky today, that was some catch to get rid of him.

As much as I have backed Wellie, he's there by default. He's not required in this T20 side. If you're nothing but a containing bowler you have to offer a lot with the bat, end of discussion. Today was the perfect day to try Cremer, as much as it pains me to say it. Salamander has less say in this team than David Coltart....or he's an idiot.
Raza refusing to bowl himself in the powerplay is ridiculous.
Why they persevere with Madande goes way way beyond cricket. He's got one panic heave across the line when he needs runs. Go back to my first post about him 70 appearances ago. He's learnt nothing and squandered the equivalent of 4 people's opportunities to play international cricket. Maybe he's paving the way for another 100 internationals from Madhevere. Its just shameful what theyre doing.
Musekiwa batted ok, got a couple of freebies which he latched onto, but also missed out on a couple. He at least doesnt panic. His strike rotation has improved big time.

Myers' dismissal was lame. Surely you're diving to make your ground? In an ordinary world he would be batting for his career round about now, but he knows he's got a Madhevere type career ahead of him and probably the captaincy.

I see CricketZimbo called out Mawoyo on X for his bias.
If only it were that simple, he's just an echo chamber.
