Wez i dont think was even in the top 20 run scorers. His ability to bowl some spin, might be a plus.

I could be wrong but i thought we had to replace a like for like player. So you would assume another wicketkeeper or top order batter.
He’s averaging 28 @ 169 with the bat and 13 with an economy of 6 with the ball  hardly terrible stats if merit based selection is a thing.

Ya I thought the same, like for like. You need a sub keeper on the bench and not part of the playing XI so I guess Clive would fill that role and not get a start all tournament if him and maru are the only keepers in the squad.

I assumed that once you'd announced your squad and the tournament had started that was it, you had to substitute from your bench? What's the point of having to announce a squad otherwise?

Wes has hit 2 six's and 26 fours in his last 40 T20 internationals. 79 T20i's in total.
I think if you follow the guys that count on social media and what's going on in general its safe to say there's no way forward.
Wes is an ok player, been thru the mill, much of which has been his own doing, but he's not a T20 player.
Not much in it between him and Taylor in T20. They got the like for like bit dialled in, I think we know what to expect. Useful player if you need 4 an over.

I see ZC sponsored an all-expenses paid trip for a cheer-leading group. Not too late to send the brass band. They could honestly make a couple of the opposition players kill themselves at a drinks break or at changeover.

We should put the brass band outside opposition team hotels at 2 AM.

Good win. Zimbabwe have done what was least expected from them and that was to beat Oman. There was some grass covering on the pitch and Blessing and Ngarava showed why they are such good bowlers.

As I had said Zimbabwe's bowling attack is more than just good. Blessing, Ngarava, Evans, Raza, Wellington with Bennett and Burl as backups.

The batting remains a problem. If BT is out injured then they must call Curran to replace him. Wes would have been better than Myers but you cannot change that now.

Most likely Hasaranga is out of the tournament with an injury. Good news for ZC.

Yeah, Curran is no one's idea of a power hitter.

Fair play to him, gone very well in the domestic T20 this year. Prior to that would have been absolutely nowhere near the T20 side. Will have fired himself up the queue a bit now though. You'd have thought that he would have to open though. No way you could play in the middle order of a T20 side like that.

Exactly  Who would you drop for him? Bennett always cooks and Marumani was playing with intent yesterday.
