Teams were pre-seeded before the tournament so by qualifying in a group where Aus dont, we ended up taking their place in the seedings and unfortunately India was - X1, Aus now Zim was X2, West Indies X3 and SA X4

Yes got to think Blessing and Richie dont play against Sri Lanka. Test the bench, give everyone a game. Dont care how we qualified. We never have any luck. This is our time. Beating Australia is the reason we qualified. If Ireland had done the same i would feel sorry for them but they were hammered.

That is so true about luck. I feel like for so many of Zim's great moments we've had to really grind for it, it's always been an uphill battle. All those times where we've just needed a touch of luck, it never happens though. Think back to so many 'almost' moments over the years, like that UAE game where D/L changed the equation, that Test against SL where Zim was on the cusp of winning when Dickwella was given a stupid umpire reprieve... there's so many examples.

I'm thrilled that for once Zimbabwe ended up on the right side of one of those lucky moments.

It’s bullshit but I think something to do with pre-seeding teams before the tournament and fixing it so that Pakistan (and Bangladesh if they were here) wouldn’t have to travel to India to play if they qualified from their group.

The fact we've automatically qualified for 2028 makes me very very happy! That's a massive bonus and will hugely motivate some of those back in Zimbabwe who are next in line. I truly don't see Cremer or Taylor there in two years time and we could perhaps see one of the Campbells take centre stage, or maybe Wez. Either way, we're guaranteed another World Cup spot, as well as the home 50 over WC. Exciting couple of years ahead!
