Cremers spin will be very effective against WI & SA. Anyways if Munyonga comes in at 6, I think Curran takes the no5 spot , there will come a time when the top order wont be there to take them home

secretzimbo pointed Zim needs 4 more batters after no4 position. Curran walks in, as simple as that. Sad they didnt take Naqvi to the world cup, he could have been lethal here.

Anyways hoping myers, munyonga & musekiwa lay all the doubts to rest in super 8. Raza definitely proved he is no1 all rounder after all.
I meant to reply to your post about Naqvi the other day. He is, as it stands today, not eligible to play for Zimbabwe - don't listen to random people who make up dates on social media!
And how can one be sure about his ineligibilty? He himself said before the Afg test that his debut can happen anytime now. Well it might be he was told to say that but if this keeps up, its a loss for Zimbabwe Cricket. In my opinion, Naqvi can prove to be the next Raza for Zim

I know 1000% that he is not currently eligible.

The ICC blocked him from playing last year and as of now there is no change on that. It will change eventually, whenever he meets the eligibility criteria, which he has not so far.

Some guys seem to think he doesn’t even live in Zim full time, just when he’s playing cricket

What a great win for Zimbabwe. Bennett is just unflappable at the top of the order, surely the best opener we've ever had?
- BT (2009 - 2011) scored heavily as an opener, but had to move down to 4.
- A. Flower started out as an opener and had a reasonable amount of success, but had to move down as well.
- G. Flower was an opener for most of the 90s, but moved down later in his career.

Where am I going with this? That seems to be the pattern for Zim batters. Bennett has thrived opening the innings in his brief career, but will he stay there? Time will tell.

His first season in the Netherlands, I think two years ago, he spent too long out of the country. That year was wiped from his residency period and the ICC blocked him from playing last year.

I think he’s was away for a shorter period of time last year which has helped.

No idea when he becomes eligible but my guess based on what we know and what I hear is probably early 2027, but who knows? He wasn’t eligible for this World Cup, we know this.
