ZCF Hapless XI

Post by eugene »

Inspired by the other ZCF-era XI thread. While Zimbabwe have had many greats since 2007, we have also seen our small player pool lead to many players being selected who really haven't been up to the international standard. What is your hapless-XI?

1. Cephas Zhuwao
2. Tafadzwa Mufambisi
3. Chamu Chibhabha (c)
4. Timycen Maruma
5. Friday Kasteni (w)
6. Prosper Utseya (when he was banned from bowling and being selected as a specialist tailender)
7. Faraz Akram
8. Ainsley Ndlovu
9. Ian Nicolson
10. Daniel Jakiel
11. Njabalo Ncube
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

It must the ultimate insult to Dabengwa that he didn't even make the starting XI of your hapless team :W:

Chibhabha had a purple patch where he was great! :)

Ndlovu is good too!

Feel a little bit for Moor being selected!

By the way, Mufambisi was a really talented lad. Very, in fact. He had a FC average of over 30 I think for a while but was thrown in at the deep end too quickly

Based on hype and performances he should deffo be in there. Failed playing for two countries, wasted talent.

Greg Lamb would probably get a game. Never really cemented himself internationally.

1-Brian Chari
2-Cephas Zhuwao
3-Richmond Mutumbami(WK)
4-Tashinga Musekiwa
5-Tony Munyonga
6-Keegan Meth
7-Greg Lamb
8-Wellington Masakadza(C)
9-Carl Mumba
10-Tafadzwa Kamungozi
11-Liam Roche

Tinotenda Mutombodzi is another notable performer who shouldve been in my hapless XI but I prefer all rounders like Greg & Keegan.

It was a battle between Natsai Mushangwe & Kamungozi for the leg spinner spot but I remember how Gayle smashed Kamungozi in the 2015 world cup enroute his 200
