We just need to smoke South Africa by about 500 runs and we'll breeze through to the semi's.
Only if zimbabwe had 2 points

Wanted to see them in the semis

Wanted to see curran & madande play

Now musekiwa & munyonga gonna play against SA because of their 150+ SR

Bennett should have set himself up for that last over. A hundred there would have been unbelievable.

I honestly thought there was an outside chance that we'd see Evans ahead of Tony and Musi after last game.

Its kinda sad zimbabwe doesnt trust cremer as an attacking option

He plays 2 games and then gets dropped for some tactical bowler :D

Almost every team these days has one frontline leggie( right arm legbreak or chinaman)

Yet zimbabwe backs tactical bowlers or wellington

All these sneaky selections escape real scrutiny until a billion people are watching and the shenanigans are laid bare. No Tino there to run interference either.

I will tell you few real life stories here.

I had few one to one chats few of these players.

Chamu Chibhaba told me it was all about bread and butter that he held onto his place.

Madhevere blocked me when I told him Sibanda was very talented too and you were following in his footsteps.

Sikandar cautioned me that if I speak ill of these passengers in the team, he would block me from accessing his social media.

The players who deserve their place in this team after this World Cup are Bennett, Muzarabani, Raza, Evans, Burl, Ngarava and Marumani.

Question mark on Myers.
Wellington is the enigma here.
Cremer too old now for the format.
Maposa maybe if he improves, long way to go.

Musekiwa, Munyonga and Madande there is no place for these three, they will never improve to be talented enough to play at the highest level.

Well at least is was a better batting performance than that against West Indies. They were never going to get there, but they didn't crumble and get bowled out for less than 100 like the could have. Bennett is something special given he's only 22. I hope he does get a IPL contract. I would also like to see if he can influence his twin brother David to come back to cricket. Surely the same talent is there too.

May as well give Curran and even Madande a run in the game against South Africa given theres nothing on line anymore. Probably wont happen for obvious reasons

How can the passengers be dropped when they got the captains backing

Cremer needs to stay tho before someone like him can take his place. Wellington needs to retire. Maposa can be the next Chigumbura if he bats up the order and starts swinging the ball a bit inline within the stumps like Angelo Mathews did back in the day

Since the world cup is officially over for zimbabwe as they are now eliminated, I would like to see the new look playing XI for future tours:

1-Bennett
2-Curran
3-Marumani/Madande(WK)
4-Burl(C)
5-Naqvi
6-Nick Welch
7-Johnathan Campbell
8-Brad Evans
9-Ngarava
10-Muzarabani
11-Cremer(since Mavuta is nowhere to be seen and Masekesa is in the tests squad)

Burl as Captain because I feel Bennett shouldnt become captain this early although he deserves it

Why would you suggest Marumani should be replaced by Madande?!?! Nevermind Clive's lack of ability, Marumani hasn't done much wrong and is improving. And why would you have him at three. Our opening partnership is working.

You'd drop Raza?!?! Still in our top two best players and still looks fitter than most players who are 10+ years younger.

Naqvi isn't even a Zimbabwean.

Campbell has a poor T20 record

Cremer is 40

Dw about naqvi not being zimbabwean, he will captain this team one day if he plays for Zim. Madande is backup keeper to Marumani. Cremer got no replacement. Raza needs to retire from t20i to focus on odi wc at home next year and stay fit. If he stays on, he might stay as captain and that will require additional focus. I think with Zimbabwe having done what nobody expected(progress to super 8), Raza can leave in a good space

Regarding campbell, if we go by your logic of poor records, Welch can never play t20i again.

Curran is best at opening, or he can drop down to 3 if you still want Marumani to open although I would open with Curran anyday alongside Bennett. Curran with those straight drives is a treat to watch

Marumani v spin in middle overs can prove very effective with those switch hits and reverse sweeps
