Early days yet in the season, but if I was to compile a list of "bubbling under" players (those not in the current XI) for round 1 of the Logan cup:
1. Ewing *
2. Ballance (I know he ain't interested, but as long as he hasn't doned the 3 lions yet, there must be hope)
3. Chibhabha
4. Mutizwa (wk)
5. M Waller
6. ???
7. Dabengwa
8. Meth
9. S. Masakadza
10. Panyangara
11. Chinouya
12. Mushangwe
13. Mbofana

Close run thing in Masvingo as Rhinos have struggled manfully to 269-2 at tea
A terrible effort by Sir Vusi as he failed to get his customary Logan 100, resting his bat before the NZ series i expect
Ballance with a career best 151* at tea will be sharing his sandwiches with Waller 99*, an unbroken stand of 227 to date
Not much to cheer about for the Rocks bowlers but they have kept the run rate down to 3.32

You would have to think that some Zimbabwean First Class records are in danger now. Ballance is now on 210 not out, partnership with Waller (currently 150 not out) is worth 340.
Matsikenyeri's 201 and Masakadza's 208* are already in the rear view mirror. In sight are Ewing's 212 and Taylor's 217. I'm not sure who is beyond that though. Dave Houghton scored 266 but it was in a Test match.

It wasn't to be. But I'd love to see a list of the respective domestic First Class records. I remember the much maligned Sean Ervine scored a double ton for the Rocks a couple of season ago. I have no time to check scorecards, but Sean's career best is 237 n.o., which should fit the bill.brmtaylor.com admin wrote:You would have to think that some Zimbabwean First Class records are in danger now. Anyone else who can fill in some more highest scores?

Rhinos finishing on 411-3 at the end of a close run days play
Ballance a career best 210, Waller a career best 172* and Wessels 7*
Some pretty horrible bowling figures, Panyangara, strangely, 2-23 from just 11 overs, injured ? and Kaia 1-65
A 261 run lead and a first point of the season for Rhinos
