I'm in shock, and waiting for some explanations:

Taibu? A new injury, or has he aggravated that finger injury?

Mushangwe over Pro (who clearly is not injured!)?

Mpofu, injured as well? Or dropped? (Didn't hear anything during the course of the third ODI)

Part of me still holds the hope the journos messed this up.

How often have we seen these squads be shown to be completely irrelevant once the final team is selected?
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

New Zealand are pegged at $1.50 for the win, Zimbabwe are $10.00. There's some pretty good value in those New Zealand odds... I guess the betting firms haven't seen Zimbabwe's squad listing yet.

Come back Alistair Campbell, all is forgiven.
A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.

What do the selectors see In Regis that most posters on this forum have missed? I think richmond Mutambami is a better batsman and wicketkeeper if he is picked for this purpose...But hopefully the argument will be redundant when Forster gets his first cap and regis misses out

Be that as it may, in accord with your key reasoning it is in line with the esteemed progress to which you proclaim, towards a 'brighter' future and away from the 'dead-wood' which is not fitting to grace this level once again :!: Enjoy :D . I know BRM is. :D

I don't think you understand my view point at all. Just because I don't think Rainsford is a better choice than Jarvis (for example) doesn't mean that I think Ncube is a better choice than Mpofu or Mushangwe is a better choice than Utseya. I believe in picking strong teams.

My argument has been based almost exclusively on form. Vitori, Jarvis, Waller, Mawoyo (for example) have been in better form than Rainsford, Panyangara, Matsikenyeri, Duffin so they should make the team. I understand your view point, I've said that numerous times, I just don't agree with it. I think it is pessimistic to suggest that even though they are better players they are being irreparably damaged by actually playing; you play your best team or close to it (for example, sometimes certain tracks will requires a horses for courses approach).
